Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumAlberto's b&b is the best place to visit the Etna national park. Beautiful location close to the starting points for walks, cable cars and excursions. You have a beautiful view of Mount Etna, but also of the sea. Cozy and clean rooms and cabines with all amenities. Alberto is the perfect host who happily gave us tips on the best sights and walks. In the morning we had a rich breakfast and there is a good restaurant nearby (walking distance) for diner.

IndiaThe neighborhood has one little restaurant nearby, but otherwise you really need a car or taxi to get places. We didn't mind this so much since we were comfortable driving around anyways. We had spent so much time in cities that it was really a lovely change of pace to be in a smaller, mountain-side town.
Alberto was so kind! His B&B is cute and situated near to Mt. Etna in a very small and hilly town. The little bungalow we stayed in felt new and comfortable - it had a hot plate and necessary kitchen items, a small drop down table and a little couch. It felt casual and down to earth, unlike some other agrotourismo options we had been considering. He had great suggestions for how to spend our time there and the property itself was beautiful to wake up on every morning and stroll around.

NetherlandsThe streets in (the surrounding of) Catania can be full of street dirt. Not in Zafferana!
First of all Alberto is a perfect, very friendly and relaxed host. He gives you very good tips for trips and restaurants. The breakfast is extensive with several sweet pastry, bread, jam, cheese, meats, yoghurt and fresh fruit. The space and quietness were very nice, with view on the Etna! Beds were comfy. Pool was refreshing. Zafferana is a nice village.

United KingdomNo complaints at all
A lovely, homely B&B with a flower filled garden, nice pool and fantastic views of Etna and the sea. The rooms are basic but perfectly comfortable. Breakfast was great, on the lovely terrace, with a good variety of sweet and savoury Sicilian pastries, fruit and yoghurt. The best thing is the host, Alberto, who is very attentive, helpful, warm and relaxed. It felt as if we were staying at a friend’s house.Alberto helped us to organise a trip up Etna and made great recommendations for eating out. The town of Zafferana Etnea is charming and nice to walk around and soak up the atmosphere at night. We wish we could have stayed longer.

BelgiumWhat a stay! Alberto is truly a very good host, great person and he will help you in planning your trips. He will look at your taste when preparing breakfast and will help out in finding nice restaurants in the neighbourhood and recommends what you should really try. You can text him at any moment of the day if you have questions. Our room was perfect for our stay with direct access to the pool. We enjoyed our stay a lot and that is also thanks to Alberto.

United KingdomJust to add that if you don’t have s car to get around then you’ll need excursions and taxis - 20 min or so walk to town. Didn’t bother us at all but just for information for future travellers
An exceptional host. Helped us with so many things and nothing was too much trouble. Really lovely man. The location was beautiful and close to Etna with wonderful views and open countryside. Very relaxed and a great place to unwind.

United KingdomNo remarks, if I had to find one, maybe 2 additional pillows for the bed in the hut to add comfort.
We fell in love with the place immediately, immersed in nature with its views on the sea and Mt Etna, the vineyard and terraces with olive trees and, of course, patios and terraces set up to enjoy meals or just chill and enjoy the view. We stayed in the hut, which is quite rustic but we literally wanted for nothing! Alberto was a fantastic host, happy to advice and help us with anything we needed and to share stories about the place. He serves a delicious breakfast with view, always fresh and with locally produced honey available 'on tap'. He helped us with booking our Etna excursion with a local guide (which we loved!!). His place is very close to the centre of Zafferana Etnea, a lovely village which offers a lot in terms of bars and restaurants and groceries shopping. Great views from the town's main square as well.
