Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenThe hotel is located on a beautiful street just a close walk to the center heart of Cagliari. The hotel is within a quite neighborhood and we could sleep good all night without any disturbences. The room was spotless and the bed was really comfortable, not to hard and not to soft, just good for us both. The breakfast had different types of bread, yoghurt with options like musli, and to drink there was coffe, tea, juice and water. It also contained a lot of good homebaked cookies. The owner Paolo was an excellent host who was really helpful. He gave us good recomendations of what we could do, eat and see in Cagliari and it felt like he really wanted us to have a pleasent stay in Cagliari. We are very satisfied with our stay and can easily recomend this hotel. Thank you Paolo and Valentina for your hospitality!

GermanyThe hosts have been incredibly nice and caring. I arrived very early on arrival day, they have sat me down with a coffee and cookies and have given many useful tips for my stay. It was super super clean, very calm and in a very beautiful area. One of the best cappuccinos ever and even though I had the B&B for myself for a night, full breakfast, homemade cakes. I was even sad to leave because I felt so comfortable…

United StatesOld buildings and wi-if don’t mix. Paolo is working to improve reception, it was spotty sometimes, but mostly was fine.
Our host, Paolo, was the very best aspect of our stay at Il Borgio. His warmth and generous spirt made us feel right at home. The location was perfect, easy to walk everywhere. It was in the middle of everything, but off on a quiet side street. The breakfast was freshly made and delicious. Home baked treats with lots of variety, all wonderful. Paolo went above and beyond to help us with tours, taxis, where to find traditional Sardinian food, and even shared some wine from his vineyard. Coffee, tea, and cookies were available all the time in the breakfast room, right outside our bedroom door. Everything was new and spotless. We were sad to leave. Don’t read any more reviews, don’t look at any more properties. Stay here and you will have a wonderful time in beautiful Cagliari!

South AfricaWe liked everything.
Paolo was an excellent host and his establishment was really good. Bedrooms were well furnished, modern and clean and we liked the space in both bedroom and bathroom areas. Breakfast was amazing with a wide range of savoury and sweet offerings. What we appreciated was that Paolo gave great advice on what to visit and where to eat .... and his restaurant recommendations were spot on! Having constant access to coffee, bottled water and various snacks was an added bonus.

United StatesNothing. Everything was fabulous!
I loved my time spent at Il Borgo and would absolutely stay there again! Paolo was an amazing host with a fabulous little B&B. He was extremely friendly, outgoing, helpful, and accommodating - he even picked me up from the bus stop in the center and brought me to the B&B when I arrived. He spent a lot of time with me explaining everything and showing me where things were on the city map, as well as recommending where to eat, where to walk around, etc. I wish all hosts were like Paolo! :-D The B&B itself was beautiful - located in the Villanova part of the city (in my opinion this is the best neighborhood to stay in as it's very quiet, calm, feels safe, and has lots of pretty colorful buildings). Villanova was great as it didn't feel touristy at all and was in easy walking distance of the other main neighborhoods (Castello, Marina, Stampace). The B&B was extremely clean (one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed!!), my room was quite large and had everything I needed: air conditioning, a large and extremely comfortable bed, a huge wardrobe with lots of space to hang your clothes, TV, desk, and a large modern bathroom. Paolo and his wife Valentina added small touches (such as rugs on either side of the bed, towels on the nightstands), which really added to the experience. Breakfast was another wonderful aspect of staying here - a fairly large spread was put out each morning and it was self-serve (fresh fruit, sliced cheese/meat, yoghurt, assorted pastries, bread, coffee/tea/fruit juice) - very generous! Paolo e Valentina, grazie mille per tutto! :-D

United KingdomWi-fi signal could have been better. Our room accessed directly onto the breakfast room which while wasn't a major issue was a bit noisy if you weren't planning to rise too early.
Location was very good with only a short walk to the main centre and other places of interest. It was a 20 min walk up hill from the train station which was a bit of trek with two cases in the heat although I suppose you could get a taxi. The hosts Paolo & his wife were very helpful and gave plenty of useful tips on where to go, where to eat and what to see. Breakfast was more than adequate.

HungaryPerfect sounds suspicious, so I'll add that on the other side of our room's door was the big dining room, which means fellow guests might wake you up if they take their breakfasts earlier than you (still after 8:00). To be fair, out of three B&B's at Sardinia Il Borgo was the most quiet at nights.
Il Borgo is a comfy, modern, clean apartment with 2 rooms in a very nice, old-townish street, within walking distance from the heart of the city. Breakfasts in the spacy kitchen with cold cuts, cheese, all kinds of sweets and some home-made surprises. It is a VERY good B&B on its own, but Paolo makes it really extraordinary. He is a pro host: very helpful, but not pushy. If you need info on parking, sights, beaches, you get it. If you need an umbrella for the beach, you can take one. If you need a reservation to the hidden gem restaurants of Cagliari, consider it done. Hospitality at its finest.

GermanyBreakfast had too many sweet options. More fruits and maybe some salty options would be great. Room was humid due to the fact that it is located on the ground floor.
The host was extremely nice, he picked us up from the parking and walked with us to the place. Place is located in the city centre and clean. Snacks and drinks were available at all times.

ItalyThere's nothing we didn't like, everything was perfect!
Placed in one of the best area of the city for position and calmness, this b&b is perfect for couples. The host is extremely kind, friedly and helpful, and can give you top suggestions for beaches and restaurants. Cleanliness is 5stars, like breakfast as well. Definitely recommended!
