How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The breakfast place was closed and they didn’t give us another option or money for us to go buy it somewhere else.
The location and the size of the place was great.

Frankly it advertises as a BnB we had to go find our own breakfast which I had assumed was included in the price and only discovered on arrival that it wasn´t. They ought to use a bono system of up to 5€ per person if we were to seek it out ourselves, but this aspect was a tad disorganised and disappointing, especially as no prior notification was given.
We loved the location, the room was perfect for what we required, the towels and sheets could be changed every other day, ideally.

Bathroom is dated. No kettle or glasses to have a drink No staff around Breakfast poor in the cafe down the road It wasn't even opened the second morning, even though the website says open from 7 am Its limited anyway to a coffee and a croissant I enquired about it being closed and was ignored Some bulbs were blown in the room and weird switches
The location is exceptional. So close to everything. The room is spacious

Rooms could have been cleaned a little bit better. Also, we payed for breakfast but nobody said anything about it to us.

I would like just a few glasses to be able to get a drink.
The property was clean and cool and close to a lot of sites and restaurants. Andrea was communicative, extremely helpful, willing to accommodate us and give ideas.

The walls should be painted and make a more cozy and clean environment.
Great location close to the vibrant center . It is a 2 ambients room, it was pleasant to find a very spacious room and comfortable with condition air.

front door key (very old lock) was rather temperamental. would be good to furnish some glasses or cups for beverages.

Bathroom quite outdated with very low shower pressure and doors to shower didn’t really close. No facilities in the room, would’ve been nice to have at least a couple of glasses to drink from.
Great location right in the historical centre. Close to the station, places to eat and the duomo. Spacious room and despite being on a busy road very quiet. Sink wasn’t draining when we arrived but this was quickly fixed - thank you!

Just missed some of the basics like coffee making facilities. Breakfast located in cafe around the corner but wasn't open on Sunday. Toilket wasn't your usual Italian fit out but was functional

Only downside was in the triple room the sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable. Besides that - nothing!
We were 3 friends staying in this apartment and loved it! Location was spot on, room was so big and just felt like a great find. We felt safe and loved our stay.

No air conditioning upstairs.
Very nice and comfortable rooms. Excellent location near by the historic center of Naples. Very friendly staff, Andrea was very helpful. own refrigerator in the room. Breakfast was served at the nearby bar on the street.

The mattress was quite hard, but it's a matter of a personale taste.
Excellent host, warm and friendly. We arrived quite late, around midnight, and he stayed up to receive us (grazie, Andrea!). Great location, the room (Blu) is very specious, spread in 2 levels, clean and tidy. Definetely the place to stay!

The room was a bit shabby. The building that B&B is located is an old not very well kept building. The breakfast was very basic in the cafe next door. Hot drink and a one baked thing
