How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

We couldn't fault anything.
Our hoasts couldn't do enough for us, they made us very welcome. The breakfast was a banquet, each table layed out with sweet and savoury foods, fruits and yogurt as well as eggs made to your preference. The room was decorated in traditional Italian style with a balcony facing into a court yard.

Beautiful interior decoration. Free parking in front of the house (Alfonso moved his car for us). Very lovely hosts Pinuccia and Alfonso. Delicious breakfast with home made pastries. Location on top of Agrigento.

Nothing, they have very high ratings for a reason.
Wonderful hosts, great location, delicious breakfasts. Very clean & quiet. Free parking near by. Such a great stay, do yourself a favor and book a room here.

The shower floor was very slippery - a non slip shower mat would be helpful. Otherwise everything was fantastic
Great location at the top of the old city of Agrigento next to the Cathedral. An authentic home experience with fantastic hosts Alfonso & his wife. We got lots of helpful advice and information from our hosts who informed us of the unique features of this part of Sicily. Breakfast was exceptional with local delicacies. Our food was served on the beautiful local ceramics. It was one if the best bnbs we have stayed at. The hosts are very dedicated to their guests. Would definitely recommend this bnb to everyone.

Fabulous breakfast, very filling with a wide choice. Comfortable room with all facilities. The location of the B&B is on Via Duomo at the top of Agrigento and free street parking is available. For drivers, it's a very accessible location. It's not far to walk to a large number of restaurants. The host is very welcoming and helpful with information on the town.

Not much to say here, the hosts were fantasctico
The B&B is situated in a very nice part of town, with parking and walkable attractions right next to it. The room was clean, very cosy and filled with lots of detail (we got postcards and some traditional house wine to taste). The bathroom was in the room and was very well equipped with everything one needs. The highlight however were the hosts. We never before encountered such hospitality, they went above and beyond to make our stay great and to make us experience Agrigento! We got to pick options for our breakfast, they bought fresh local foods and sweets (Mignolate!!!). The breakfast was much more than expected and I cant recommend this establishment enough! BR from Slovenia, N&A

Alfonso the owner, a true gentleman. Beautiful room,Amazing breakfast of fresh fruit, yoghurts, Sicilian pastry’s etc… cannot speak highly enough of this establishment!

Although in the old town steep walk down to the restaurants and main street.
The hosts with the most! Very welcoming and amazing breakfast. In the middle of the old town up by the Duomo.

Saying "Goodbye"......
Our hosts, Pinuccia e Alfonso, were most welcoming and accomodating. They were very helpful with recommendations for navigating Agrigento and surrounding areas, as we were first time travellers and had a rental car. Their suggestions for what to do/see and what to not do/see were so appreciated. The breakfast each morning was "PERFECTO"! Made to order, plentiful and delicious. This delightful couple made our stay wonderful.🥰

I had a bit of trouble with the vertical distance to the restaurant area. More than 80 stairs each way. Because of this, I do not recommend this location to people with mobility issues. Driving to a restaurant in the historic centre of town is not possible, therefore you must walk.
Pinuccia and Alfonso were wonderful hosts. The breakfast was delicious. I especially liked all the conversations that we shared in Italian and French. I learned a lot about Agrigento and Sicily from them. The personal contact is why I stay in B&Bs.

Alberto was so charming and helpful. The Liolà property was easy to find. Free parking was available in front. We challenge other travellers to name a B&B with a better breakfast than they offer!

Parking could be a problem. We were very lucky!

It wasn’t in the city center but I preferred that as parking was nearby and free.
The couple that owns this property is really lovely. The room was very Italian and comfortable. Their breakfast was the best we had in Italy.
