How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Amazed at the attention to detail & beautiful furnishings & renovation of apartment. Very warm welcome & very much appreciated our bags being carried to the 4th floor! In fact host helped with bags on arrival & departure. Excellent & very generous breakfast . Great location to exploring city, markets near by - bonus to find weekly Friday market with 460 stalls !!! Also regular town market with food, flowers etc very close. Easy 5 min walk from railway station.

It's 8 flights up and no elevator! But I was more than grateful that Michaela took my suitcase for me.
A lovely, spacious, and stylish room/ensuite bathroom. The owner has just 2 rooms which share a breakfast room. It's a great central location. About 10 minutes walk to the station one way and the beach promenade the other.

EVERYTHING! The location is amazing, the building is gorgoeus. The apartment is the right size, with a very nice reception area. The balcony gives open space whit relaxing space. The bathroom is very delicate and beautiful, there is space for everything. We loved it. I had some questions on the first night at 10pm, and after texting the host, she responded within few minutes. I can only recommend and we will return.

The stairs! No lift here and 100+steps.
Very clean, nicely decorated, lovely balcony with views to Ventimiglia Alta. Fabulous (cold) breakfast treats. Good value.

We loved our stay here. Michaela and family were very friendly and helpful and the apartment is beautifully designed and furnished. Breakfast was delicious and very generous. We'd definitely recommend!

Traffic in Ventimiglia can be noisy so we had to sleep with the windows closed, but the air con was good.
It was very clean and beautifully decorated, with a lovely sun terrace with views of the old town. We were lucky in having it to ourselves as no-one was staying in the other room.

Lovely location and breakfast. Wonderful period property. Only downside to that is the 108 steps to the top floor and no lift but was good exercise for me.

Michela was Awesome! He carried my bags up several flights of stairs, explained how everything worked and set up the most fabulous Italian breakfast! The whole stay from start to end was Wonderful!

The stairs! But when you reach the B&B all the fatigue disappears. So, yes I did not liked the stairs when I had the luggage to bring, but the welcoming was so perfect that I forgot them in a sec

It is located 4 stories high with no lift. We did not mind, but could see that others with more luggage might.
Excellent bed and breakfast not too far from the train station and thus anywhere along the French/Italian Riviera. Would definitely stay here again!

The only thing to be aware of is that it's 4 flights of stairs without a lift. Helpfully, the kind owner's son carried one of our suitcases.
Everything was fabulous! Big bed, great bathroom.
