How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Noisy neighbour in the adjacent room was very audible
Central location within the city walls of Siena and very friendly staff. Clean room, good shower. The water cooker and tea/coffee is a plus.

The beds were lumpy, and caused shoulder and back ache Overall very clean, just the room floors could do with some extra cleaning.
The location is fantastic. Walk to everywhere around town. Plenty of restaurants around. The common kitchenette area with coffee and tea facilities was really useful. Very helpful host and people who worked there. No elevator, but they carried our heavy suitcases up and down the stairs for us - very grateful for that.

It can be rather noisy outside at night sometimes but worth it because we were so close to everything in town and slept well on a very comfortable bed.
Roberto our host was lovely and nothing too much trouble. Continental breakfast was fresh and plentiful. We really enjoyed our stay!

No negatives, but be aware that there are strict vehicular transit laws that prevent tourists from accessing the historic centro. At this property your host will provide you with specific instructions.
Friendly and professional Host, Roberto, met us at the property with helpful information and personally showed us the recently renovated condo. unit on the second floor and made suggestions and recommendations of places we should not miss in Siena and nice restaurants in the area. We enjoyed our single-night stay and in the morning Roberto personally provided us and other visiting guests a delicious continental breakfast. Siena is a great place to visit, there are fabulous sites to visit and enjoy.

Really awesome experience. The landlord was very nice, answered all requests and returned messages very promptly, thanks for his help. The room was in a great location, a ten minute walk to the city center. Especially good was the bedding in the room, the mattress and pillows were comfortable and the sheets and duvet covers and bath towels were very clean! The heating was also very hot. At this price for a room with so much care, I believe it is the first choice when visiting Siena.

We stayed in room 5 and this room had a great view. Other rooms in the facility may not have the same view because not every room faces the same place, but overall it has a very good location. It was very clean and comfortable.

Lovely location and really good value for the price. Lots of bars and restaurants just outside the place. Only about 10 minutes walk into the centre

There was nothing we didn't like. And the cab driver from the train station had no trouble getting us there!
The location in the old-town makes it possible to walk to the main sights of Siena, yet we were also able to walk to the Avis car rental office down below in a new section of town. There are good restaurants, a pizza parlor, and a gelato stand right on the same street, so it was convenient for us to head out in the evening even when we were tired from a full day of sight-seeing. The beds and pillows were the most comfortable we experienced anywhere in Italy on several trips! The rooms are charming and include a tea-maker and a mini fridge, and the breakfast was typical. All in all, amazing for the price, and owned/run by a born-and-bred local gentleman!

Arrival - Instructions were clear and easy! Room - beautiful white linen, clean room with coffee. Bathroom also big enough and clean. Room was cleaned after first night. Location - Take a bus from the station to Via Tozzi or Belverde, then you will walk 600m to the B&B. Pack light! B&B also close to main square, Piazza del Campo and nice restaurants. There is also a Supermarket across the street.
