Get in shape BEFORE you go! Walking up and down those streets made me much stronger when I left than when I arrived! I wish we could have stayed longer!

Gangi is not the easiest city to navigate. Tiny, ancient, narrow one way streets that go steeply up and down are not very friendly to an unfamiliar visitor. Our host helped us with every aspect of getting to our room and enjoying the city. And the townspeople were sweet and friendly. They pulled us in and included us in their religious procession and festival. The room was very spacious, clean and bright, and had a beautiful balcony with an expansive view of the glorious hills of Sicily.

Everything was perfect. When we closed the window screen and we didn't hear the circus that's at the bottom of the montain.

The terrace was incredible and the locals were so sweet. Its very calm but you can enjoy the authentic small italian village.

The apartment is located in the very center of Gangi's historic district. The surroundings are breathtaking, and the apartment itself is large and comfortable. The host was very helpful, assisting in navigating the car to the parking next to the apartment through the narrow streets of the old city.

Host was super friendly, welcoming and helpful. Place is right in the centre of the Old Town so it was perfect to just enjoy the surroundings. We had everything we needed, even a stocked fridge at very reasonable prices if required.

Everything was fantastic! Only recommendation for the hosts is to provide a bottle opener and perhaps some small plates and glasses, as we enjoyed having wine and snacks on the lovely balcony.

This apartment is incredible! The view from the balcony is absolutely stunning, and watching the sun go down behind the duomo is beautiful. Everything inside the apartment is new and sparkling clean. It's spacious, comfortable and in a great location for getting around the charming town of Gangi. Would 100% recommend - absolutely perfect. On the practical front, there is ample free parking on Viale delle Rimenbranze which is a short walk away (we found this easier that driving into the centre). Google Maps also took us to the wrong location (number 30 instead of number 3), so be sure to check the street names and numbers when locating the meeting point.

Everything was just amazing! The view, the room, facilities, location! Probably this is the best location not only in Gangi, but around it also! Free parking is just 300-400 meters away. Fast internet and very friendly hosts 💙 you can contact them on WhatsApp also, if you don’t have local SIM card. Enjoy your stay!

The view from the room was way much better than expected, the terrace right next to the duomo is amazing point to adore the city. Santo and Enza are kind, helpful and were waiting for us with warm welcome. The room is big, cosy, equipped with detergents, coffee machine, cold water, welcome biscotti. Recommended!

Keep the bedroom window closed if you don't want to hear people talking outside and church bells ringing all night. It was worth it for the view!

Hard to find by car….we had to be rescued by the host. There is an amount of walking and steep steps up to the property. Parking was away from the property however it was a busy fiesta day when we stayed.

Unfortunately, the bed was a hard foam mattress reminiscent of those sold on the cheap at home improvement stores, and the memory foam pillows felt like logs. Breakfast was a far cry from anything we had elsewhere – a single drink and pastry at a nearby bar where we were clearly outsiders. So as a “Bed” and “Breakfast”, Al Centro failed in both categories. More fundamentally, we felt neglected as guests other than the five minute verbal overview we received. We also thought Al Centro should be reclassified as just an apartment to rent. There was absolutely no communication from the owner on any of the channels provided (Booking.com, email, text, etc.) prior to our arrival, save for ‘accepting’ our expected arrival time. There was no guidance about where to park either, and this proved problematic given the precarious mountainside setting of Gangi, the convoluted street design, severe traffic limitations, and obvious language barriers. We had an immense amount of trouble locating the property, finding where to park, and transporting our luggage. The manager was anything but proactive. He waited until we were desperately seeking his loft in windy, cold, and rainy conditions before advising us via text on what street to park, as if we had any clue where it was. Unlike our last B&B in Ragusa Iba, he didn’t come to greet us and escort us home. In sum, the B&B needs to reach out to its guests ahead of time *and* be ready to help them upon arrival. The mattress needs to be upgraded to something consistent with the quality of the rest of the apartment. And for the price paid, the breakfast “coupon” should definitely provide a morning meal as generous as other B&Bs in Sicily – one that allows guests to eat and drink a variety of foods without limitation, in a place far more hospitable than a local grungy bar, in order to start the day right.

Al Centro had the makings of an excellent property. It was the most modern of those we visited in Sicily – in terms of lighting, flooring, bathroom, shower, electrical outlets, roll-down window covers, and a glorious oversized porch/patio with a superb view of Gangi and the valley below.
