Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaThat we only stayed one night :)
This place is absolutely breathtaking. It is a travel back in time, you feel like you are in an abbey, having a museum all to yourself, relaxing in the beautiful english garden, wondering the corridors of the wine cellar or enjoying an extraordinary meal and service at their restaurant. The wines were a taste journey and the olive oil is an explosion of flavours I have never experienced before: just perfect!

United StatesGreat private dinner at onsite restaurant. Ricardo took great care of us and prepared a special treat for us- he roasted chestnuts in a pan in the fireplace beside our table… delish!! The tour of the wine cellar and tasting given by Juicie (sp?) was fantastic for our family. We learned a lot about the Chianti Classico and the region.

AustraliaThe wifi was a little interrupted. As there is no outside connection to the world during times of uncertainty being able to opt into seeing the world via wifi is important
The staff were amazing and very friendly. They were genuinely wanting to make each visitors experience the best it could be.

RomaniaQuite remote (the car is a must for any activity outside the location) but the location is also a plus if you wish to enjoy a quiet and scenic place.
The historical vibe of the place. Very friendly and helpfull personnel. Cool and clean rooms, no need for air conditioning. Very good food but a little expensive (maybe because of the local, bio ingredients) Clean, relaxing pool, not so deep (so perfect for children).

United StatesMinor, but we could have had more soap and shampoo.
We did the cooking class, which was amazing! Great experience. We had a great chef and met some wonderful people also participated in the class. The grounds were beautiful! We missed the official tours, but we asked the staff to get a look at the wine cellar and they were able to accommodate us for a quick visit. 10/10 stay and we’d highly recommend it to our friends.

GermanyI was encoutering back at home that we did "collect" a scorpion in the luggage, most likely form there. I was not so surprised, because I had this experience before in other historic buldings (an old mill) in tuscany.
My partner loves the pool. I love the historic bulidings, the garden / terrace with the breakfast outside. And it is a rare experience to stay in such an historic location.

IrelandIt was perfect
The pictures don’t do this place justice. As we pulled up to the property my partner and I GASPED. It is absolutely beautiful and so historic. I felt like we were in a fairy tale. The staff were very attentive to us and provided a cot for baby free of charge(we ended up using a travel cot as our baby preferred it). There is a really nice restaurant on site and a bar. Also a self serve bar available at reception. The pool wasn’t open during our stay but the gardens and surrounding hikes available kept us busy. Nearby town of Radda in Chianti is v picturesque. The breakfast here really impressed me! Not your standard hotel breakfast, lots of homemade cakes, pastries, fresh fruit, there was a spinach tart thing which blew my mind! The decor in the room was all antique and really beautifully done. I felt like I’d gone back in time. Wandering down the corridor I discovered a library which was a beautiful place to sit with a book

United StatesOne of the showers didn't have a shelf or anything to place soap or shampoo and made showering a challenge. If you're there eating dinner for several nights, the dinner options at the restaurant were the same and more non-meat dinners would be great.
The food was very good. Lots of choices for breakfast. The abbey and the surrounding gardens were beautiful.
