Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBooked a balcony and sea view but view was limited and on had ground floor terrace not balcony, even though we said at booking it was our wedding anniversary trip. Also train noise close to hotel garden and loud started at 4.30am, not communicated to us before booking. Breakfast was hit and miss on choice depending on arrival as was ever replenished. Location good for views but can be tricky walking on road to get to hotel, especially at night.

LatviaYes, the train tracks are just beside sea/fence of facility, but it does not go too often and we had no issues with it, cuz our windows were facing street. Perhaps just a bit too expensive.
Cannot get a better location than this (perhaps only 100m down the road, but it is super expensive). In my opinion, you are paying for the location and parking, the rest is what it is. Good and friendly staff, it was clean and room service was good, we got new stuff after just one day. Yes the overall look/condition of the place is outdated, but so are the rest of them in Sicily. Really cool chillout zone on roof, terrace and nice garden with exit to the beach. Breakfast could be good, if staff would pay more attention on what is running out or missing, because both times, we ate clondish eggs and no bacon. Perhaps you need to ask, we did not, not in our culture to ask for things (we are a bit shy). Place is good and you will be able to get to cable car in 10min by foot and the up to Taormina 🤌

United KingdomThe double room needed some tlc and a refurbishment but our two teens stayed in it and were perfectly happy. They said the room was quiet and we felt the hotel was safe and secure for them. The sea view we paid for in the apartment was not worth it as the room was on the side of the hotel. Rooms at the front of the hotel had the best view. There was no kettle in the apartment or hotel room.
Staff were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was also good and well stocked right up until its finish. We had one apartment and one double room, the former was more recently refurbished. Both had well functioning air con. The hotel is very near the beach. If you walk through the two managed lidos you can reach a perfectly good free public beach under the cliff. We are glad we saved some money walking there. Local restaurants weee good and walkable. The cable car gets you into the main town though be prepared for a return to cost you £10 even if you are nine years old 😬

RomaniaThat each day we were woken up by the loud noises from the hallway, I’m not sure if it were the other guests slamming the doors or the cleaning staff doing their jobs. But each morning there were very loud noises like slamming doors, dragging the furniture and people chattering. Also be careful when going in direction to Isola Bella or center, because you have to walk on the road and they are driving like maniacs, if you are not careful you might get hit by a car or motorcycle. If you have a car better to pay the parking from the hotel and not leave it on the street. There is access to the beach, but no beach, you have to go to other private beaches like Lido beach 25 euros for 2 sunbeds and umbrella.
The staff was really nice and friendly. I like that the rooms were tall and it had air conditioning. The rooms were cleaned each day. Breakfast was also good, they had a really good pistachio pie.

United KingdomThe quality of the breakfast food itself wasn't the best considering it is Sicily, but given the price we paid, I am happy with it.
The bathroom was quite spacious, and the breakfast was amazing on their terrace. The hotel has access to a private entrance to the sea with some sunbeds, perfect for relaxing. The receptionist gave us good recommendations for eating nearby and in Taormina.

United StatesThe bathroom was small, dark, and had no air circulation it it. After showers the entire room became warm and humid. The parking is very tight, and difficult to maneuver. The drive way down is only large enough for one car. Thankfully we never came face to face with another car, not sure how with the twists and turns we would have been able to get out. We only got to stay one night. The Italian air traffic controllers had gone on strike the day we were supposed to fly in, so our flight from Germany was cancelled. We finally arrived the following late afternoon. It stunk paying for the two nights, and barely getting 15 hours on the property. Wish we could have stayed longer.
A charming, quiet location, surrounded by a beautiful garden. The room had enough room for everything you needed. We were glad to have a refrigerator. Breakfast was served by staff, due to Covid precautions, but had a nice selection. The outside terrace seating for breakfast was lovely. We also enjoyed the location to the water. There wasn’t a beach, but the man made dock helped easily get in and out of the water. The lounge chairs and beach towels were also nice.

BelgiumAircon wasn't working, our original room didn't have a real window so the staff kindly upgraded us to a bigger room with a balcony so we could sleep with the windows open. They also gave us a fan wich was amazing. But there are train tracks right next to the hotel so we were constantly woken up during the night by very loud trains. Air con was supposed to be fixed for the next day, wich didn't happen.
The staff was very friendly. They gave us a lot of information about the town. They tried to help us the best they could with the aircon problem. The location of the hotel was really good, the beds were comfortable and breakfast was really nice.
