How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Style is very very rustic - very old Venetian style. However, this depends on a person's liking.
Breakfast was wonderful - including hot bread, hot croissants with a marmalade filling, coffee or tea or even fruit juices, a selection of cheese and more of the sort like ham and salami, eggs, as well as fruit salads.

It is hard to find and doesn’t have much of a sign outside
Amazing location in a quieter area but within walking distance of everything. Lovely local eateries just around the corner. Nicola was so friendly and we can’t fault this place!

B & B quite difficult to find. Approaches very dark and narrow, even for Venice ! No UK. tv channels
Friendly and Professional welcome by the Host on a very hot afternoon. Excellent Breakfast. served in pleasant area. Ideally positioned to explore the best of Venice.

A lovely B&B where the hosts made us feel welcome! It was well located and we were able to comfortably explore most of Venice. Breakfast was definitely a highlight!

there was nothing !
the property was very quaint and conveniently located not far from Rialto and S Marco and all the lovely restaurants. The owner Nicholas was very kind and helpful and told us every thing we wanted to know and how to get our way around and even managed to get gluten free bread and buns for my aunt !

Poor wifi signal in our room. Constantly disconnected. Not effective and very noisy ventilation in the bathroom , so towels couldn't get dried and were not changed, despite we asked for. Only 3 tables for the breakfast. One morning we had to wait about 40 minutes till one of the tables got free (asked and got coffe to the room meanwhile)
Perfectly clean room. Good breakfast Good AC in the room itself Very good location Nicola waited for us for the relatively late check in

Shower curtain in the tub, it just never seems hygenic enough in reted properties.
Nicola the host was very outgoing and communicative. Location was perfect for our trip. Breakfast was very good, as well as the internet connection.

Nothing bad to say, nothing I didn't like.
The host was great, super helpful and a Venice native himself. He was able to give us instructions on how to get to the property (parking, ferry, etc.) Unfortunately, we didn't make it to breakfast as we were out the night before until 2am so we slept in. Upon check-out the host was so helpful and very nice.

As Americans we were hot entering the room which was probably normal temperature for Europeans. WE asked Nickolas for a remote to work the aircondtioner and he immediately gave us one. Outstanding Service !!!

this place perfectly matched the atmosphere of Venice. Finding the door was a pleasant adventure, the host was exceptionally friendly, and the breakfast was pleasant and comforting. I would definitely stay here again when I return to Venice, and not just because I know how to find it now.

Loved staying at B&B Cà Del Modena. We met Nicola who was wonderful, was very accommodating, and gave us lots of tips during our stay in Venice. The breakfast that was provided was generous and very delicious. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. It was a short walking distance to the San Stae water shuttle stop which was very convenient when arriving and leaving with our luggage. The location is also walking distance from all the top sights in Venice. I definitely recommend.

Nicola was so very pleasant and helpful. Rooms were spaces enough considering we were in Venice. Breakfast was very nice. Easy to find from the water taxi stop...as long as you have been in Venice before. It is a breathtaking city but not easy to get around although that is what also makes it a beautiful unique city and the energy of CA Del Modena fits so well with the city.

The staff were all lovely and attentive! My favourite part was the breakfast and especially the freshly baked apricot croissants. I'll be dreaming of those for days! Location is also great, easy to walk anywhere. We loved our stay here :)
