Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt was hard to get in and the room was a bit small. There were no coffee cups provided and the fridge was too small to put anything in. It was also very hot as there was a heater under the bed that you could not turn off.
The location was great.

LithuaniaThe only inconvenience was the heater (radiator). Control knob was broken and the room was very highly heated. But this was the only tiny inconvenience during the cold season
Everything was superb! Great location, easy check in and also a nice surprise - breakfast in the local café.

NetherlandsSadly the airconditioning was really loud and the walls were quite thin, which meant you hear the other guests quite well.
The location was very good and the room nice and clean. The breakfast was in a nice cafe.

SpainThere’s no soundproofing across rooms and floors, therefore turned out very loud. There’s also no staff in the facilities to reinforce quiet hours. As a recommendation, in the check in there should be an instruction about quiet hours for guests given the lack of soundproofing.
Good location and rooms as clean as in the pictures

BelgiumThe staff: we had a little dog (brown toy poodle) and i didn't see it was not allowed. They have a camera in the corridor and that's how they saw it i think although they metion it was the cleaning lady that let us in as we arrived at 12:00 and she was just finishing up. I got a call that i have to pay 15 eur extra for our poodle. I asked why since it's not an extra cost for them. They told because it requires one hour extra cleaning. Strange for me as our toy poolde is cleaner then 80% of humans walking around if you ask me and she sleeps in a closed transporter and loses zero hairs on top of that. I told i'll write this in the review so that people can't miss it and then they became agressive after that and they wanted to put me on the street and cancel the reservation to block me from writing this. I begged to stay as i had 2 hours before an important meeting and really no time to search for somehting else. The woman said she had to speak to her supervisor. 1,5 hour before my meeting they send me the payment link, i payed extra and i was allowed to stay. ufff. The first time someone put me almost at the street at +- 15:00 in the afternoon. That's why i write also this review as I still have an aftertasete. I only write facts, nothing exaggerated or negative. The sounds: you hear basically everyone around you from other rooms (left, right and even above) and you can sleep once all neighbors intend to sleep. Also you hear strange water pipes making a lot of sounds like you are sleeping below a pool or somehting. The facilities: rahter ok, but some things needs fixes like the hairdryier and the water in the shower that is clogged
Good location, nice automated self-checkin with proper instructions, price-qulity is correct, comfy bed, towels and everyting is there. Also the breakfast next door is quite nice that this is even included in the price. Very good coffee.

GreeceIt more a serviced apartment rather than a hotel. There is no reception or common space, and the rooms are not soundproof, so you can hear the people staying in the other rooms or walking at the corridor. Overall, I found it quite overpriced for what it offers.
The location was convenient, withing walking distance from Porta Susa station and the city Center. The room was beautiful and the owner very accessible and responsive. Breakfast was provided by coupons that you could use at the cafe next door.

PortugalThe only thing, which I would suggest for improvement is aircon. There's portable one, which makes lots of noise however without it it's not doable to sleep during the night, when it's hot outside (plus there was some ongoing construction outside, therefore opening the window wouldn't be the best idea anyway).
Location is just great. Very close to city center and shops, restaurants. It was easy to find and get the keys anytime. Room was clean and modern and with sufficient equipment. We liked that there was prepared water for our arrival and coffee machine to use outside of the room (we didn't use it at the end, however we found it as a sweet add-on).

NetherlandsThis is not a hotel although the word hotel is used in their communication and, I filtered my booking options by only looking at hotels... it is a serviced apartment with 3 rooms. We heard every single noise, from the main door of the apartment being open and shut, to when the other guests went to the bathroom. Highly uncomfortable, very noisy, overall it gave me a sense of lack of safety.
The room is decorated nicely, the bathroom is rather big. Vouchers for breakfast were available in the room (we didn't have breakfast).

ItalyThis is an accommodation where two other rooms are placed next to yours, the acoustic is really bad and you can hear everything. The bed too is very nosy every time you move.
The position is quite central, this, however, creates problems with the parking as it is in the ZTL zone, 2.50 euros per hour.
