How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Bologna is a wonderful city, full of life and I regret that the holiday was too short
The apartment is located in the central area of the city, on a very lively street with many shops and restaurants, 8 minutes from Bologna Centrale and 5 minutes from Piazza Maggiore A special appreciation to Giancarlo, our host, who waited for us at the location and who kindly provided us with all the information we needed. All important sights are nearby except for the monastery of S. Luca, located outside Bologna and where you can reach either on foot, under the arches, or by special buses taken from Piazza Maggiore

The location is central and walkable to everywhere. There is a lift so no stairs to climb👍. The host is good to guide me to enter the apartment on the phone.

Great location, surprisingly quiet at night considering how central it is. Communication with the owner was great, could not fault it. Apartment itself was very clean and has everything you need for a weekend break in Bologna. Overall, would highly recommend!

Everything was so nice. Location is great, although the building is old it is renovated and the room is excellent (clean, warm, spacious). We stayed 2 nights and we were pleased. The host Giancarlo is very friendly and helpful and responds quickly to messages.

Nothing, the place and host exceeded my expectations.
The host had excellent communication and was very kind, check-in process was smooth & easy, host was very helpful throughout my stay. The place was immaculately clean and very cosy, the comfiest bed and nicest place I've stayed at so far on my trip. A perfect central & convenient location, overall a 10/10 experience.

Fantastic location, very special accommodation with many interesting elements of furbishing creating an exceptional atmosphere. The very friendly host waited for us on site and showed us the place with the smallest details, even though it was only for 1 night. Contact before arrival was perfect as well. Great kitchen equipment and terrace. Quality bathroom amenities. I would definitely stay there again and recommend to anyone.

Noise from the street at the middle of the night
The host was really nice, helpful and friendly. We had self check in, but we found the location very easy. The host gave us a video with how we enter, but also called us when we arrived. We left our luggage at the property after checking out. The location is 5 mins from the city center, 5 mins from the bologna train ststion, the best location. The room is modern furnished, good wifi and smart tv with netflix, large room

Excellent location, close to the Bologna train station, restaurants, bars and "local flavor". He host met me with a warm greeting and kind conversation, which was a plus. The room was at the top floor of a very lovely, secure, and well-maintained palazzo. Beautiful morning light from the bathroom skylight. Recently renovated, it had every comfort: large bed with soft linens, large, clean bathroom with a luxury shower. The host provided travel toiletries should you forget yours. There was a TV, a kettle for making tea, and desk for working. Closet to store clothes and luggage for longer stays. Lots of plugs for charging computers and phones. My one regret is that I was only in Bologna for the night leaving on an early train the next day. I would have loved to have a slow morning to enjoy the space for longer!

The round bed was a surprise and took up a lot of space, making it awkward for two people to watch TV together. The outside wall is badly insulated, so the street noise is very noticeable. There was no fridge, so no way to make our drinks cold.
The man who explained how to get into the apartment was very patient and helpful. The bathroom is spacious. There is a narrow desk with two stools and a good TV with English-language channels as well as Italian. The decor was good.

The unit has ceiling beams that hang low in several spots and you have to be very careful to NOT hit your head. I did not like that. It seemed to be an apartment that someone usually lives in. When I opened the lower kitchen cabinets to look for a trash can, they were completely cluttered full of cleaning supplies, towels, etc., stuffed into them. Could not find a trash can. Finally found one outside on patio.
Great location and wonderful host. Our host met us and also sent a video of how to get into the unit. Very friendly and helpful. Very large unit and gorgeous bathroom.
