How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

you have to pay extra to enter the spa, which was not clear when we made the booking. we thought the price to enter the spa was too expensive
great location right next to piazza navona. you can walk the whole city by food, since everything is close by. room was really spacious and comfortable. good value for money!

A bit noisy on one of the nights, wasn’t sure if it was outside or one of the other rooms. Majority of the time it wasn’t an issue
Exclusive access to the spa was great, a perfect start to the trip. A lovely traditional looking building, large comfy bed and great facilities. Location couldn’t have been better, close to lots of great restaurants, bars and shops (more of the smaller local places) and walking distance to everywhere.

The only disappointment was the cost of the pool facilities. There was no mention of additional cost on the booking info, and although I expected there to be an additional cost, it was far too expensive to use.
The location was fabulous and the room very comfortable. The staff also allowed us to check in slightly early.

Location.. just a few steps away from Piazza Navona. Spa: you can book a private spa session Mini Bar selection!!! amazing. perfect for couples. and the team it’s fantastic!

The lift was very small and looked a bit scary, we chose not to use this. You cannot get a Taxi directly from the hotel. We tried to book 2 that didn't turn up. We walked 2 minutes to the taxi station and this worked well.

The noise from outside could easily be heard from our room and also from people coming into the reception. We were on the ground floor but rooms on the upper floors might be quieter
The hotel is in a superb location, near a lot of shops and restaurants. The receptionist was so lovely and helpful. The room itself was a little small but very clean. The spa was absolutely beautiful and perfect after a long day walking around.

This would be nitpicking but the bathroom got very steamy even with the window open a little. The bathroom door was a little tricky getting it to close and stay closed.
Hotel's location was the selling point and it did not disappoint. It was within walking distance to almost all the attractions like the Vatican City. Room was very spacious and the bathroom had plenty of counter space. Would definitely recommend!

- Rooms are quite dated, needs a little more decor and thorough cleaning to make sure there’s no dust - Bed is quite uncomfortable :/ - quite loud on the street and you can hear the other people in their rooms
