How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Unfortunately not well managed. Staff tried hard, but was incapable. Many days no internet connection. Nicest staff was cleaning team and gardener. Staff at the pool bar was really bad. Long wait and no smiles. Not even a hello.

It is quite an old hotel, for me it is certainly not a 5 stars hotel, rather 4. The room we selected suppose to have 26m2 however it did not look like it, in our opinion it was smaller. Sea view directly from the room was limited, you have to go out from the room to enjoy the view.
The hotel is located right by the sea, thus we have a beautiful view from the pool. It is a large facility that offers several attractions for its customers.

The main issue was with the poor service in the two restaurants which were open - individually, everyone was very nice but there weren’t enough of them. Having to wait over 30 mins for a drink and for an order to be taken is unacceptable in a 5 star hotel. Not all of the restaurants were open which was something we were not made aware of before we arrived. The hotel is quite remote, so you need a car.
Initial impressions were very good, lovely rooms & very comfortable. The whole complex was very clean and the staff very friendly

A bit of a walk to the beach if staying in the further located sections.
best resort out of all Mangia's in Sicily, great views, breakfast and dinner options. Clean updated rooms, bar and live music, Ethna views. Great state overall.

Stayed here for a romantic night with my wife. This resort is a coastal paradise that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted with warm hospitality and stunning views. The accommodations are luxurious and meticulously maintained, providing the perfect blend of comfort and elegance.

This is not a 5 star experience. More like 4 stars. For the price point, the food was very average and expensive (40 Euro) with few options due to the remote location. Service was severely lacking with staff less than attentive. The rooms, though nicely renovated, were dark and lacked light. I would say that the hotel is not value for money.
Grounds and location were perfect for a quiet getaway. Stunning view of Mount Etna on the coast lines, very easy for a nice swim in the sea. Reception staff were very thoughtful and helpful. The rooms were clean and modern. Gym was well equipped with a lovely view.

When we arrived the air condition did not work. Then we changed rooms just to wake up to a loud noise from a building next to us. Also no drinks in the mini bar. After moving rooms again, we had a nice room, although also here the mini bar was just partly filled. The WiFi was interrupted for hours on a couple of days. Worst was the service level. Although staff tried partly hard to do their best, it was clear that they were understaffed and secondly not well trained at all. Especially the staff at the pool bar was subpar. It took ages to get an order placed and then delivered. Best staff were the cleaning team, which at least managed to say „hello“. It is really sad as the facility is great. It really could be a 5 star resort. But with current operations it is far off.
The facility was newly renovated and thus in good shape although there were still certain areas not fully in use yet (for example not all restaurants were operating).

- one of the restaurants was not yet opened - the Rose wine hadn’t been delivered to the resort yet.
- food was excellent. Especially the pizzeria. Everything made so fresh. -service was fantastic. - Lisa the manager looked after us everyday. Best level of care we have had. -rooms are lovely. Clean and modern and spacious

The staff in the bar and main restaurant were atrocious. Over four days, there were countless errors with our orders and bills. The staff in the pizzeria were, however, brilliant. For a five star resort, I'd expect the bartender to be more concerned about customer service than his paperwork. In addition, we booked this hotel over others as the description referenced five restaurants. On arrival, we found out that only two were open. The room also had very little natural daylight.
The property itself was incredible and very authentic. The pool was lovely.

Only one Restaurant on property was open so, you were very limited with regards of where/what to eat
Lovely location with lots of Sea views. Great selection at Breakfast of Hot and Cold. Not enough selection on the hot side but, lots of choice for Pastries, Cakes, Fruit etc.
