Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceHard to find negatives, it is 5 star in Venice, so that comes with a price of course. If there is a single thing we did not absolutely love is we felt the interior patio lacked a bit of charm, maybe more flowers and colors...but that is really personal taste....and possibly more bread choices for breakfast.
Super well located, brand new, very confortable and interesting design, very nice and helpful staff...Perfect stay in Venice. The lagoon view suite really makes a difference.

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn't enjoy about our stay.
The bed was incredibly comfortable, the breakfast buffet was delightful with a wide variety of options, and the views from our room were breathtaking across the Lagoon and the tip of St Mark's Square and Campanile. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with recommendations, bookings, and any other requests we had. The hotel's central location made it easy to explore all the major attractions while providing a peaceful retreat. We'd love to return one day as this was a truly unforgettable stay.

United KingdomWe booked a junior suite and were allocated a bedroom. After complaining and showing the print out from booking. com which quite clearly says a bedroom and separate living room we were reallocated to what I would describe as a suite!

The arrival to the hotel was fantastic, arrival via taxi from the airport directly to the entrance to the hotel. The rooms are well decorated with huge beds, showers and lounge space. This hotel is truly fantastic.

United KingdomNothing that we didn't like
The location was ideal, close to the main touristy area but removed enough that the immediate vicinity wasn't overcrowded and the view from the front of the hotel is wonderful. The staff were the perfect balance of friendly and helpful but not overbearing. We were given a free room upgrade on arrival. Room was a great size and the bed was incredibly comfortable! There were renovations taking place in the building next door, however we were never disturbed by these and in fact, the room was very quiet. We enjoyed the hotel breakfast, there was a fair range of options and dietary requirements were well catered for.

United Kingdomthere is nothing to dislike about this hotel
The location was perfect for us, close to the water and away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist attractions, the artwork in the public areas is stunning. The breakfast was amazing, wonderful choices and beautifully presented. The food in the restaurant was out of this world, the attention to detail from the crockery, glassware and presentation was exceptional.

SwitzerlandThe buzzer every time we opened our door is A BIG MISTAKE and it feels like ALCATRAZ. A hotel like this should focus on being subtle and gentle in every detail.
The location, the decoration and the staff were just amazing. They have a big breakfast menu (unusual for Italy) with great food. The In-house restaurant VERO was beyond any expectation and the bar and staff were superb.

United KingdomNothing.
Understated elegance, beautiful art, quiet and calm ambience. Stand-out staff. This used to be a monastery for hundreds of years- and it is now the most amazing hotel. We have stayed in a lot of higher end hotels over many years, and this one was the best. Met by a lovely (huge!) doorman on arrival of the water taxi to the private entrance. Bubbly on arrival. Beautiful, calm and classy environment throughout. Amazing food and drinks. Lots of touches of class and thoughtfulness throughout- from comms prior to our stay, little bits of detail in the hotel itself- everything properly and thoughtfully and thoroughly planned in meticulous detail. Best of all for us- what made it properly outstanding- was the staff. Every single one of their staff were all and to a fault incredibly polite, friendly and helpful; going out of their way to help but never intrusive. When asked they were keen to recommend places to visit or eateries, or to quietly help with the little things until they were satisfied that we were. Every person we interacted with from the most junior to senior were properly nice and warm individuals and they made it their job to make every interaction positive and our stay a good one. Thank so much to all of you.

Staff is attentive and available with all and any requests. Located right by the water and a short walk to St Marks Square. You won’t go wrong booking this hotel.

CroatiaWe have chosen our room from the third attempt only. We did not like the first 2 rooms offered to us. The last one was perfect.
The breakfast was very good, but it could has been even better if more option were available: more vegetables & fruits, more gluteen-free products, larger variety of milk products (i.e. yogurts, curds, similar).

Fantastic stay at the hotel from start to finish. Every one of the staff were so friendly, they gave us recommendations for restaurants and what to see and do and nothing was too much trouble. We had a free upgrade due to it being my birthday and our anniversary and they made these celebrations so special for us. The breakfasts were superb. Valentina was especially attentive at breakfast and the pancakes were amazing. The suite was beautiful, simple but elegant and always kept beautifully clean.
