Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

LatviaAC didn’t work, old furniture and carpet so didn’t fell clean, very uncomfortable bed and the bathroom has no door and is linked between all rooms. So each time anyone uses water or turns the bathroom lights which automatically turn the bathroom AC you will hear everything because they are linked.

United KingdomThe walls were very thin. I think we had a cheap room because we could hear the crying kids next door to us. We were out of the room mostly and so were they but there were some early mornings. The floor plan was incredibly small and we could barely move around the room. We are small energetic people so we crawled over the bed mostly but not the most practical of layouts.
The location was good and the staff member on the desk was very friendly and gave us lots of information. Two bottles of water in the room every day was a nice touch.

EcuadorThe bathroom; the shower was small with a handheld hose-type shower head and close to the sink with no curtains towards this sink so it was not comfortable to take showers as you had to hold the shower head with your hand in a little space in the shower while being careful of not wetting the rest of the bathroom. They should install a mount in the shower to hold this hose-type shower head and extend the curtain so it fully encloses the shower.
Convenient check-in time; our flight to Venice arrived around midnight and this was the only place we found that allowed us to check-in at that time (self check-in) and that was within our budget (we only stayed at this place one night). The host/administrator of the place was really attentive; he provided us recommendations of places to eat.

The room was great... this is not a high end, luxury property... its a nice 3 star property in an ideal location, with very comfortable beds, and great staff as well as water and coffee makers in the room. The rooms were very clean. They do not serve breakfast but its readily available 3 minutes away at Trattoria de Fenice or 5 minutes away at Cafe Brasilia. The only issue is that it is a walk up and we stayed on the 5th floor so this property is not for the mobility impaired. Otherwise I gladly recommend it for a nice stay in Venice. Two pluses for us were Ristorante Antico Martini, in part managed by Dali, which is 3 minutes away and Cafe Brasilia which serves breakfast and then drinks until 2 AM and which was 5 minutes away.

Exceptional staff, especially Lucca, who went above and beyond to help. Fantastic location, short walk to San Marco, but away from the main hustle and bustle.

There is a king of a common kitchen, but the induction stove is unavailable. Also, some mosquito nets on the windows would be good.
