Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandA took us a little while to figure out how to get down to the property and find Luca.
We traveled from New Zealand and stayed one night. The room was clean and comfortable. The views are amazing, the best view from a toilet you will find! The parking was easy and the access to the property has 58 steps, with handrails. Luca is friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very satisfying.

HungaryThe family room was very small for four people. The extra beds was poor. The bathroom and the shared kitchen located in one room, separated by a curtain. The balcony was small for 4 people for a breakfast.
The location was good, near the strada and the city. The seaview was nice. It was good accomodation for one night. The owner was very friendly. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful.

SwedenA fantastic B&B! We had a perfect balcony with a fantastic sea view, close to the sea. We could hear the waves! Good breakfast. The host, Luca, was very charming and helpful! He drove us to the station after our four nights stay! Cas'Alda lies about 5 km from Varazze but it is possible to walk. A calm and quiet place. The stairs down to the walking path, along the sea, was a bit tricky but manageble. The pictures on Booking talkes by themselves! What you see is really what you get! Per and Birgit

MaltaLuca is a super host. Prior queries were answered immediately and positively. We got in around 10pm. Luca was there and greeted us nicely assisting to make sure all was ok including offering a secure garage space even though the area is a super safe location. Being so late I didn't feel like going out to get things but Luca immediately offered his wine and later got us a bottle of wine to wind down. The place - entering the property we found a warm living area onto our spacious and very clean bedroom with its own bathroom just outside. Then the surprise was a terrace onto the Mediterranean. Even though it was dark you could see the distant lights along the shoreline and in the morning we woke up to stunning views despite it being a rainy day.. I highly recommend this place to chill out or a stop on your way along the Italian/French Riviera. Luca will surely assist you with any queries or assistance one requires.

South AfricaWe loved it all.
Fabulous B&B in a quiet leafy location with spectacular view of the sea. Luca was a super friendly host, provided a great breakfast on the terrace. The tiny beach below was exquisite if looking for quiet and peace from the busy public areas. Lovely bathroom with big shower, although not en-suite, was private use for the room. Simple and comfortable all round. Although a steep access with short ladder areas, it has direct access to the beautiful promenade.

ItalyI am accustomed to fluffier bed pillows.
We had a private balcony and view of the sea, perfect for watching the sunrise. There is an adventurous path that allows you to get to a secluded section of beach. The property is out of the center, quiet and relaxing. Local neighbors were friendly, there is off street parking, and the property is dog friendly. Luca, the owner is very nice and helpful.

SwitzerlandOpening and closing doors was noisy. Possibilities to hang up clothes and towels were missing. There are quite a lot of rocks on the beaches.
The warm welcoming of Lucas was great. He is a lovely host. The view from Cas d'Alda is absolutely splendid. The direct path going to the beach is adventurous, but great. To come to a beach where you can easily swim takes about 20 minutes, but it is a beautyful walk to get there.

Czech RepublicThe way to the sea is very steep incl. ladder which can suprise you if you don ´t like climbing rocks which we do so it was just a welcome challenge for us. The doors are not soundproof so it was a little bit disturbing in the morning.

SlovakiaThank you for hospitality, it was also fun to finish pre made coffee in the morning. Very interesting location, away from the tourist crowd, overlooking the sea - good thing. Very residential, meaning private streets and hard to navigate yourself around. Depends what one prefers. Only one restaurant at walking distance but good local food.

Germany- The house is in the middle of nowhere. No restaurants, no shops. - breakfast is terrible. No eggs, no meat, no vegetables, just tee, not tasty coffee and some cheapest pieces of bread - strange crazy pictures on the walls - way to the sea is not for people over 50 or with physical problems
Only view from the windows is wonderful.

Switzerland1. When we arrived it was not clear where to go and where to park a car. There is no reception. I had to search for the owner in darkness although we texted him in advance when we arrive. 2. There was no Wi Fi at all (they told us it was because of bad weather). It is ok but they also asked us to pay in cash because of that. It would be better if they could tell us about it in advance. 3. The place is an apartment with 3 bedrooms and the owner lives next door. It says that there is kitchen but in reality its private and guests cannot use it. It was not 100% clear which areas we could use. We booked two rooms and left some towels and backpack in the third room because there was no one in there and it was opened. Next day they told us we have to pay 45 euros more because of that even though no one slept there. 4. At around 4am in the morning someone entered the apartment and did some noise. I woke up because of that and could not fall asleep back 5. The breakfast was served by a lady who came at 8:30 with a baby and they made a lot of noise so I woke up again. She was moving tables loudly and the baby also made loud sounds. Also, it was a bit weird that she stayed outside with her baby looking at us through the glass door while we were eating. We didnt feel comfortable because of that. When she entered back she started asking me whether I slept in the 3rd room or not and didnt believe me when I said no. She started complaining and basically blamed me in front of my family. I am sure there was a better way to settle it. 6. There was a dog in the owner’s house and every time I passed by to our apartment it was agressive and barking loudly so I was a bit scared. 7. The mobile network there is not good . And we had to call the owner to open the gate for us so that we can leave with our car. Spent some extra money on international calling…
The sea view is indeed amazing. The rooms and bathrooms are fine. The breakfast is mainly croissants, focaccia, yogurt, juice + italian coffee. It is nice.
