Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandIf you are looking for a place where you want to feel the authentic Italian and peaceful atmosphere of Florence, beautifully and tastefully decorated interiors with elements of art, very tasty breakfasts, and extremely nice and helpful service (thank you a lot Roberta and Giacomo), and have all the biggest attractions within walking distance - this is the right place. A place you miss after returning home...

United KingdomThe reception is closed after 6 p.m., so we can reach the staff with a phone call if there's anything happening.
The staff is really friendly, welcoming and considerate, and the room is so stylish and comfortable. The location is close to many attractions and restaurants too, which is quite an advantage.

United StatesNothing comes to mind. I was very happy at the property.
Located in the best part of Florence, the Oltrarno district, Casa Botticelli is housed in a grand old, architecturally interesting building. Staying at CB is not like staying in a generic hotel. You feel more like a guest at a gracious friend’s stunning and eccentric palazzo. The charming owner, Mrs. Botticelli, is part of a multi-generational family of antique dealers. Her exquisite taste and art collection throughout the property give CB an undeniable flair. The lovely Roberta and Giacomo are the ultra helpful, kind and professional staff members overseeing the hotel’s daily operations. They are discreet, elegant and do everything to assure you have a pleasant stay in Florence. You will find unexpected touches of generosity and grace at Casa Botticelli. I would definitely return there next time I’m lucky enough to visit enchanting Florence.

The staff here went above and beyond! My son left his small stuffed animal in the bed, and it got caught up in the linens. The manager phoned the laundry, found Zippy the turtle, and returned him to us. We also left some cash in the safe that they kindly mailed back to our home. The hotel itself was charmingly designed, and nicely renovated, with rooms on two levels (rather than one central area). Beds were very comfortable and linens were lovely. Our windows opened into a central atrium, which was very nice. The location was great, in a quieter section of the city but close to everything. Recommend highly!

United StatesNothing! We would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful old and well cared for building centrally located, but away from all of the crowds. We loved the modern decor with a classical twist. The showers worked great, the beds are super comfortable, and the entire hotel was spotless. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast spread. Giacomo was an amazing host and went above and beyond to help us get our lost luggage delivered. We would absolutely book Casa Botticelli again!

NetherlandsThe hotel’s location couldn’t be better – in the heart of Oltrarno, just a stone’s throw away from Piazza Santo Spirito. Many restaurants and (antique) shops nearby. Housed in a magnificent 15th-century building, the hotel exudes elegance. Accessible via a gated entrance with a secure code. Upon entering, guests are greeted by the warm hospitality of the staff, who go above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. Our deluxe room ( I requested a room after seen the pictures on booking.com) was a sanctuary of comfort and style, with a tasteful decor, a plush bed and a rain shower. Every detail had been considered. Breakfast with freshly baked pastries and artisanal treat from a local bakery. Inviting common areas adorned with antiques and art. Beautiful collection of art books. What truly sets the hotel apart is its personalized service and attention to detail. From explaining the history of the building to thoughtful gestures like adding a sofa to our room or a complementary bottle of Chianti classico. The sweet, polite and caring staff ensures that as a guest you feel valued and cared for. In essence, this hotel is more than just a place to stay – it’s a sanctuary of luxury and comfort that feels like a home away from home.

ItalyEleonora the owner was such a pleasant lady - bubbling over with enthusiasm for Florence and extremely knowledgeable about the city. Casa Botticelli is steeped in history with the main dining room having been the study of Robert Browning and his wife Elisabeth Barrett from 1847 onwards. The casa is located about 5 minutes from Ponte Vecchio so is the perfect starting point for sightseeing. Our room no. 7 on the second floor was beautifully appointed with a great bath tub. It was very clean and pleasantly warm. Bed was extremely comfortable with lots of pillows. Lovely welcoming gift of Chianti wine and water. Breakfast was tasty and catered for our needs. Self check-in went smoothly. Giacomo was available in case of need.
