Casa Carlotta is absolutely stunning. Recently renovated in good taste with all the finishing touches. New fixtures and modern appliances in a historic home with high ceilings. It's one of the most beautiful properties I have stayed in, and I am a constant traveler. The host went out of her way to help us with our every need and even went above and beyond to help me with things unrelated to our stay. This is as good as it gets. Thank you, Mariella!

To be fair I didn’t pick up from the description that it was on the 2nd floor. Lovely owner helped me up the stairs with my heavy suitcase. Had I read properly I would have managed what I took up to the rooms better!

We loved everything in Casa Carlotta. It was beautiful, spacious, well-equipped, extra clean and has a super athmosphere. The location is perfect, close to the old town, restaurants, cafes and the sea. Mariella, the host is was really nice and friendly. She suggested beautiful places, restaurants and also gave us practical info to make our stay perfect. She answered all our questions immediately.

Very minor, but it’s not suitable for those who can’t walk up the stairs. Also some rooms are a little bit dark as they’re facing the courtyard.

We didnt like the too many steps going to our room. If you have luggages its a little hard to go up and down with more than 40 steps I believe.

We had the distinct pleasure of staying 4 days in Mariella’s apartment while on vacation in Monopoli. We’ve stayed at dozens of apartments throughout the world and Casa Carlotta is right up there with one of our favourites. Not only is it very clean and spacious, but Mariella’s attention to detail throughout, makes one feel right at home. The kitchen is a delight, the little balcony to enjoy your breakfast makes you feel like a local, along with a very comfortable bedroom and it’s close proximity to Old Town, make it a perfect choice. Mariella really is a lovely person who takes a lot of pride in the apartment and goes above and beyond to ensure that everything is in order for her guests.

Lovely apartment refurbished to a very high standard . Very central location but even though close to the centre of bedroom was at back of apartment meaning we had a quiet peaceful sleep . Really enjoyed our stay here .

Very beautifully, tastefully decorated flat with many aesthetic details. Situated close to the city centre and the harbour but in a side street, making it quite quiet. The owner takes great care of the flat which is very clean. Very good contact and lots of helpful information.

Nothing to dislike! The stairs are a little steep as mentioned in other reviews but I wouldn’t let that put you off - we would definitely stay here again!

The apartment is quite spacious and in a great location to access the old town/Port and a short walk to the beach. The host was lovely! The beds were comfortable and it was great to have the use of a kitchen & washing machine while travelling with kids. The balcony was nice to sit and enjoy a drink or a coffee in the morning and there are 2 supermarkets and lots of cafes/restaurants nearby.

That we stayed only 3 nights :P

We liked everything about it: the entire design and attention to details, the very engaging and nice host, who waited for us with a few things in the fridge, and explained whatever piece of information we needed + (and this is a huge plus) its location: near a market, a pharmacy, city centre & old town + 10 mins on foot to a cute sandy beach. Monopoli has a really beautiful cathedral, and was overall a chic town to explore and discover a little bit of Puglia!

There are a couple of flights of stairs, but one instantly forgets as you enter the apartment. The decor is charming…

Everything was perfect; even nicer than looking on the fotos. Mariella is a perfect hostess; we can absolutely recommend Casa Carlotta. There is enough space for families with two children.

We stayed at Casa Carlotta for a week and used it as a hub for touring that area of Puglia. We were sad leaving Casa Carlotta, its that good! Mariella and her daughter Carlotta were fantastic hosts...attentive, responsive, warm and friendly. The apartment was an absolute ten, from design to decor to furnishings. Location was fantastic, about a two minute walk from the old town. Try Caffe Crema around the corner, restaurants abound, several small supermercados withing a five minute walk. For first time visitors to Monopoli I would recommend Casa Carlotta over similar accommodation in the old town, access in and out is much easier. Grazie mille Mariella and Carlotta

Fantastic quiet location close to the main square, waterfront and train station. The property is large, clean and well appointed. Our host, Mariella, was extremely helpful in assisting us with planning activities, booking restaurants etc.

These are observations rather than criticisms: - Monopoli is a beach town. We visited in October and found parking challenging at certain times of the day; it's got to be tough during the summer. - Tall ceilings mean a bit of a climb up the stairs. Just be aware. Not a big deal. - The space is gorgeous but could use a shelf in the bathroom

Marianella is the gracious and accommodating host of Casa Carlotta. She responded via the Booking app to multiple questions and adjusted her schedule to meet us with the keys and to do a full walk through of the apartment. She further followed up with restaurant and parking suggestions. For those who don't speak Italian - poveracci - she's quite fluent in English. After a week of eating out, we were very pleased to have a full kitchen available to prepare our own dinner with local ingredients from the numerous shops in the area.

Everything was wonderful

Our host, Mariella, could not have been more perfect. We found her to be extremely helpful and interested in our Monopoli experience. When we expressed interest in biking, she immediately recommended options for bikes or ebikes and went over the top by offering to bring us on a local bike tour. We had a great time riding around with her. We rode down quaint country lanes around the olive tree groves, visited an olive farm/bed & Breakfast, and completed the tour with fantastic ocean views. Let Mariella know what your interests are and I am sure she will do everything she can to help you have a great time!
