How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Fabulous place. Perfect location, you can park right outside and then walk into the centre of the City. The hosts were really helpful, the rooms were decorated beautifully and the property had a huge rooftop terrace with the most amazing view that you could sit and relax.

The apartment was amazing, it was so clean and absolutely so impressive how it was styled it really made us feel like we were at home, it was central to to the main city centre and Mino the owner was amazing he was so helpful ,always in contact with me to see if all was okay ,it truly was a memorable stay at Monopoli thanks to Mino and his amazing accommodation.

Everything. It’s quintessentially Italian yet has all the mod cons. The original stonework is stunning. Beautiful decor, spotlessly clean and perfectly located for a stroll through old town or for a swim in the beautiful clear waters of Monopoli. The hosts were exceptional- giving detailed information on best places to eat etc. They were lovely people. We highly recommend

The host met us at the door and showed us around, sent on recommendations for restaurants etc. They kept a parking space for us just outside the door, and it was free! They could not have been nicer. The apartment is very well kitted out and very clean. The roof terrace is beautiful.

What a cute little apartment right in the heart of town, walking distance to cafes, restaurants, beaches. Apartment is very clean and very comfortable with lots of little touches. Would definitely recommend.

Steep narrow stairs. Though host helped to carry bags on arrival.
Host was extremely helpful on arrival, checking the streets around for a free parking spot. The apartment was clean and well appointed and well located 500m from the old town. Washing machine with washing liquid, nice terrace above for sun baking and drying clothes.

· The apartment was very clean, tastefully decorated and well equipped. The hosts were very helpful, polite and accommodating. I'd messaged Roberta in advance with my rental car details and he arranged on street parking. He met us on arrival and explained how everything in the apartment. It's also very short walk to the seafront with numerous bars/restaurants. I would highly recommend this property and would stay again.

Like all older properties in Monopoli there are narrow steep steps to access the upstairs accommodation and roof terrace which will not suit everyone, we had no issues at all but just something to be aware of.
The location was great, close to all amenities and the historic centre but on a quiet street. The roof terrace was lovely and the apartment was well equipped. Mino & Roberta great hosts, helpful, friendly and available for any questions.

Very helpful staff. Our room was lovely, very well appointed and with a beautiful view. Excellent dinner in the restaurant. Roberta and Mino, were exceptional in their warmth towards us and our requests. All their recommendations were superb. Highly recommended.

Everything ok
We had a lovely and very comfortable holiday at Casa Donnalby. The structure is located in the heart of the city center and you can go to the sea on foot. Roberta advised us on the best places to visit and the best typical restaurants all located a few hundred meters from the house. We really appreciated the possibility to sleep at night as the house is located in a very quiet street even if in pikeno center.

An amazing, clean and modern apartment local to the main centre of town. Much bigger than it looks in the pictures. So clean, so beautiful. Roberta was very helpful and responsive to our needs. She also had great recommendations for the local area.

Everything Was great. Hosts Mino and Roberta, will make you feel like at home. Very welcoming and attentive. Apartment is in great location a few steps from the sea, with a great view of the city center. Higly recommend.

There is absolutely nothing not to like.
One of the best apartment I have ever stayed. Everything are super good. The apartment decorations are very stylish and the amenities are of good quality, like home. The host has think of every details to make your stay comfortable.
