Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandNothing, all was great.
Fabulous room (quadruple) , which was very large and had views to the lake. Very stylish , a very comfortable bed as well as very large ensuite. Breakfast was excellent, especially when able to sit out in the garden.

IsraelIt was a bit cold in the room, so Marina turned on the heating for us but for some reason the next morning it was off again so the room got quite cold during the night. Parking is available nearby, but not right next to the house (about 300 meters away). Would love more savory options at breakfast.
Very beautiful house and room with a cozy atmosphere. Marina was lovely, very friendly and helpful with great suggestions and recommendations. Great shower. Nice homemade breakfast. Great point from which to explore Tremezzo and the Como lake area.

United StatesWhile certainly not bad, long-term parking (greater than 2 hrs) is a short uphill walk away. Plenty of parking and certainly not too inconvenient.
Fantastic stay in a beautiful area with a lovely host! Breakfasts were very nice, and the location was great with access to restaurants and boats by a short walk (albeit up and down the beautiful mountainsides.

CanadaOnly negative was that the walk up to the B&B was a bit steep - only a problem when we had all of our luggage. But we did know this from the description of the property- very accurate!
Marina was a wonderful host- very attentive and communicative. She gave us great recommendations for restaurants and things to do. The breakfast was amazing!

United KingdomIf you're traveling without a car it can be a little hard to get to (it's a 15 minute walk up a hill from the ferry stop), but that means it's also more removed from tourists, which is a plus.
The host was very accommodating and made the best breakfast we had in Italy. Freshly prepared eggs, seasonal fruit, and plenty of other treats made it particularly memorable. The room and bathroom felt very pleasant and spacious, and although we didn't have a view of the lake, we did get to oversea the beautiful garden.

United StatesMy only issues were the slightly difficult access from the lake on foot when we arrived with our bags, as well as noisy neighbors in the next door house, but neither of those are the fault of the host! I still would recommend a stay here and we had a great time.
The breakfast in the morning was delicious and the garden was absolutely incredible! The room was very spacious, which is not always the case in Italy. The host, Marina, also gave a great list of restaurant recommendations.

CanadaNothing that I can think of, according to the standards of the industry for this line of price. All good.
Casa Lumaca was a happy-lucky last minute choice, having booked our trip very close to departure date. We still can't believe how lucky we were to find this gem. A lovely house, well-renovated, well-preserved with beautiful antique details from its origins. Our room was large, very quiet (obviously this setting is way more peaceful than Bellagio which is just across the lake, 10 minute ferry-ride) bed comfortable, large bathroom for Europe standards, lovely antique furniture, etc. Having breakfast outdoors in the backyard terrasse felt like being in an Agatha Christie novel setting. :) We would definitely go back, or recommend to friends. One needs to be able to walk uphill to go there from Tremezzo, or of course take your car or taxi service. We travelled from Milan with a hired driver, to Bellagio, took the ferry to Tremezzo, and walked to the inn. Note: Not to worry about the twisting stoned staircase you will see in the photos here,, there is another one, easy, wide, and to the standard of lodging industry. This one is mainly an attraction. The owner gave us great suggestions for dining out.

Started off each day with a fantastic home cooked breakfast. The B&B's location is perfect for exploring the immediate surroundings and convenient for trips to other villages on the lake. PortugalEven though there is a short walk from the parking lot to the B&B, this wouldn’t put us off staying here again.
Casa Lumaca exceeded our expectations! The room was very clean, quiet and it had all the necessary amenities. The breakfast is amazing and delicious, and we even got the chance to enjoy it on the beautiful garden. The host, Marina, was outstanding. Always kind and helpful! BelgiumOur room was located next to a steep stairway and there was a gap between the corridor and the door. We had to be careful when entering/exiting not to trip over it. Located on the hill, it was difficult to climb back from the lake. No access by car, we needed to carry our bags from the parking lot which wasn't far but not very convenient.
A beautiful hotel with very stylish rooms. Comfortable bed. When the weather allowed, breakfast was served in a pretty garden. Air conditioning and a minibar in the rooms. Dogs allowed. Free parking is accessible within 5 mins walk.
