Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

If I visit Rome again I will not hesitate to stay here again. Gianluca takes amazing care of his guests and thanks to his recommendations and map we saw everything we wanted to see and easily navigated our way around Rome. Rooms are lovely and very clean. They are small but there was 3 of us and we were comfortable. The roof terrace is delightful and a lovely breakfast to start the day.

I have to admit that Casa Martini has exceeded my expectations! The personnel was very helpful and polite! Gianluca helped us with all the details of our travel. We had a warm welcome, and he gave us a map with proposed tours, what to see and who to access everything! I was travelling for work and he helped me with finding all the details for the transportation and how to reach the conference centre. The location is perfect! Just 30 metres from the metro station and just 10 minutes walk from Saint Peters square. The room was excellent! It was very clean and spacious. The bathroom was perfect! Everything was new and it was super clean! We had access also to a shared kitchen, when we could prepare our baby's milk in a microwave, prepare a cafe or a tea anytime 24/7! The hotels offers also a terrace. The terrace is above the 4th floor of the building and you have a great view. It is open 24/7, we used it also at the evening and we could enjoy the nice environment with our own food, but we could borrow everything we needed from the kitchen (plates, glasses, etc). The breakfast was served in the terrace. It was a great experience! Delicious and exceeds our expectations! Overall, we felt very welcome and that our stay was personalised! I total recommend this hotel!

Casa Martini is a superb guest house, with large, well equipped and very clean, air conditioned rooms. The complimentary coffee/tea facilities are a welcome addition, as are the well equipped kitchen and a sumptuous (inclusive) breakfast, served by the team in the lovely rooftop dining area every morning. The Casa Martini team (owner Gianluca, assisted ably by Japeth & Lizette) are friendly, accessible and very helpful. The location is ideal: a few minutes walk from Ottaviano Metro station, and only 15 min walk to the Vatican. Lots of eateries in the area, especially a great bakery in the same building as Casa Martini. Overall, a lovely place to stay and highly recommended !!

United StatesWe had a wonderful stay in Casa Martini. Gianluca and his team were very nice and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The location is great. It's in a quite area. The bus station right in front of the building, the subway. Walking distance to Vatican City, a lot of stores and restaurants nearby. We arrived by a car and it was easy to find a parking right in front of the building.

IrelandBad luck for us, the metro line A closed in August with buses operating instead - Ottaviano Metro station on Line A is really close so it would have been better, quicker for us than the buses to where we were going - Line B was open The owner Gianluca is very helpful and I read in other reviews how helpful he is for guests on arrival, helping them to plan walking routes, local eateries recommendations etc - which for 1st time visitors to Rome is really useful and together with the close proximity to Ottaviano Metro station is what made me choose here to stay for our family - he was on his own family holiday during our stay so we missed out on that personal experience- he was still contactable via WhatsApp and did kindly respond to the few advice questions I had during our stay - we didn't like to be disturbing his own family holiday but the lovely lady looking after us when we asked her some questions/advice, advised it best we contact him with our questions - I'd suggest for times Gianluca isnt there himself, it would be very useful to compile some of his local information/advice and tips that he provides regularly to visitors in a folder in the room - as no doubt us visitors regularly ask lots of the same things
Enjoyed our stay at Casa Martini. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Lovely breakfast each morning served on their rooftop terrace or to your room if you prefer. Lovely, large bedroom for our family of 4 with very comfortable beds, excellent air conditioning (needed in the hot and humid weather of August). Lovely bathroom with walk in shower, shampoo, shower gel and soaps provided, also hairdryer there if needed. Fantastic bakery next door that serves delicious suppli, pizza slices, cakes and biscuits - we became regulars there. Location felt very safe for walking around in the evenings/night. Lovely communal kitchen with tea and biscuits available. The accommodation is spotlessly fresh, clean and comfortable - lockable wall safe in the room for securing valuable items like passports Gianluca, the owner, was helpful in advance of our stay when I asked for recommendation of a tour company to book Colosseum tour. He also arranged taxi transfer for us on arrival to Rome Fiumicino which was very handy to have a driver waiting for us - this was also arranged for us for our return to airport at the end of our stay. We missed our breakfast one morning - as we'd been kept awake by a lot of neighbouring noise. When I texted Gianluca to ask where the closest place would be to get breakfast items, he kindly organised for staff to bring breakfast to our room, which we really appreciated. Gianluca's staff are very friendly and kind. Easy walking distance to the Vatican, Castel d'Sant Angelo and plenty of buses nearby and very close to Ottaviano Metro station on Line A (closed during our stay but really useful for getting places quicker when open)

United StatesWe were met on arrival and got a full tour of the apartment and common spaces. She also gave us a map telling us places to visit and recommended a few restaurants and gelato places. The apartment was on the 4th floor but had an elevator (our first in Italy). The apartment was located close to Vatican city and also close to subway and bus lines. Several nearby groceries, pastry shops, and restaurants that were very convenient. We also visited two of the restaurants they recommended and they were both very good and reasonably priced. The real highlight was breakfast. There were two Filipino people working in the breakfast area and the breakfast was fantastic - eggs, juice, pastry... The breakfast area was a nice area too - on top of the building.

United StatesCan't think of much - perhaps a bit more variety at breakfast, but it was tasty and of high quality so that's really not a complaint.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Martini. Gianluca was a generous and attentive host, from the time we booked until the moment we departed for the train station. He helped w/ transportation arrangements, pointed out great local restaurants to try, and was basically our "Rome insider" during our 3 night stay - incredibly helpful given this was our first family visit to Rome. The property is charming, private and inconspicuous, yet in a great location near a Metro station, some wonderful dining options, and of course, close to great Gelato (try Lemongrass). It's also walking distance to the Vatican, which allowed us to make a few impromptu return visits. The room itself was spacious, with two separate sleeping areas, a modern and clean bathroom, and plenty of space to spread out, unpack and relax in between adventures. The breakfast upstairs on the balcony was special - made-to-order egg dishes, cold cuts, coffee, juice, fresh croissants baked in the shop downstairs, a nice selection of yogurts, and more. We definitely recommend Gianluca and Casa Martini, and would definitely return on a future visit.
