How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Giovanni and his wife met us at the property, they even saved a parking spot at the house! They were wery helpfull and gave us great tips on the area, including a pre-prepared, highlighted walking map to see all the sights. The apartment is superclean and comfortable. There is everything you need. They even had the fridge stocked with water, milk, juice, butter, jams, and everything you need for breakfast. And coffee too :) We can highly recommend staying at Casa Nannina. They are top hosts.

The apartment was perfect, so comfortable and in an ideal location. Giovanni was so helpful, showing us where to park and gave lots of information on the area. Highly recommend!

Excellent location within a few minutes walk from the entrance to the sassi. Very modern studio. Perfect size for a family with a small child. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Kept us a car space free right outside the property and provided us with a map of the town and recommendations for restaurants.

Everything was perfect.
Giovanni and his wife met us at the property, they saved a parking space in front of the house for us which was really appreciated. They were very welcoming and gave us great tips on the area, including a pre-prepared, highlighted walking map to see all the sights, which were only minute's walk from the apartment. The apartment is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. There is everything you need for a great stay. They even had the fridge stocked with water, milk, juice, butter, jams, and everything you need for breakfast. We can highly recommend staying at Casa Nannina.

The perfect location brings its own challenges for parking. Quite difficult to find a space but not impossible.
This accommodation offers everything you need for a stay. It was warm and clean and a good size. It is perfectly located and the lovely couple who met us were very helpful and knowledgeable.

everything was perfect
Giovanni and his wife were lovely hosts! Beautiful, very comfortable and immaculately clean little house on a quiet street in a great location! They gave us a map and offered sight seeing suggestions, met us and moved their car so we had a place to park right in front of the house, breakfast was provided and they went over and above to make us feel very welcome. Highly recommend and would stay here again!

We stay only one day.
We enjoyed our stay. Givanni and Roza were very kind and polite, they welcomed us with a smile. The appartment was perfect, nice decoration, very clean, all the amenities you need, in quiet neighborhood less than 10 minutes walking from the centre. The most important was that Giovanni helped us and we parked the car opposite of the house.

Brilliant location, a couple of mins walk from the edge of the sassi. Spotlessly clean suite, equipped with everything needed. Hosts were very helpful and took a lot of time to give advice on Matera.

Pleasant owners, gives many good advices about Mattera. Super clean appartments. Nice and new. Not far away from old town. They even gave cold watter to go, thanks for everything, thanks for attention to all details and our kid :) best look. P.s. save parking.

This one bedroom apartment has recently been renovated as new. Very compact and comfortable. full kitchen if you want it. On the edge of the Sassi (old town) and the modern area too. Very helpful owner who provided maps and directions. Highly recommend. he parked his car out the front to give us the car parking space which is in high demand.

This property is absolutely perfect! We have been travelling in Europe for a long time now and this is definitely the best we have stayed in. The hosts were so kind and helpful… they took the time to tell us all the best places to go in Matera. Nothing was too hard for them. The accomodation was spotless, so clean and new. Everything is very well thought out. Location is also only a few minutes walk from the centre. A wonderful stay, we wish we could have stayed longer!
