John and Paola were great hosts. They were easy to communicate with and provided an exceptional property. It exceeded my expectations. It was very clean, well-appointed and beautifully decorated. Paola had even put up some Christmas decorations. They provided some groceries for us to have dinner the first night, which was very thoughtful and greatly appreciated after a very long drive. The location was fantastic and a very easy walk into the old centre of town. I highly recommend this beautiful property.

The stairs. Not too steep or high but there are stairs to enter the flat on the first floor.

The owners greeted us on arrival and were very welcoming. The property is comfortable and has all the basics you need, including tea and coffee supplies. The bed linen is of good quality and the flat was spotless clean, it was decorated tastefully with plants and art. It was easy to find parking outside and it’s a short walk to the walled historical centre.

Not spending more time here, my bad!

Great location with off-street parking. Best ever pastry/bakery nearby. Easy walk to walled city. Wonderful hosts. Thanks John and Paola for a wonderful stay and for being wonderful hosts. We had a memorable first night ;-). If I had my time again, I would use this as a base to other parts of Tuscany including Florence. Hope to be able to visit again.

Everything was great. John and Paola were wonderful hosts who provided every amenity we needed. The apartment is well maintained and in a great location to access Lucca. John went the extra step of running my wife's iPad to the train station after she had left it behind.

Nothing … everything was perfect.

The aparment is just outside the old city walls … just a few minutes walk. The apartment itself was fabulous … the hosts were there to meet us, showed us around and had even bought food and drink for us … it was very much appreciated. The kitchen is fully equipped and all other rooms were also great … the bed was very comfortable indeed, and the bedroom was light, big and airy. The building has other apartments and is close to the railway station but we heard no noise at all from either. There are good supermarkets within walking distance. We really had a fantastic stay …thanks to a lovely apartment and very thoughtful hosts.

We would have liked to stay longer and enjoy all that Lucca has to offer.

Our hosts Paola and John welcomed us at the front door and we were pleased to have them explain the various aspects of the apartment. All the fine touches were appreciated and it was very comfortable. The bedding, kitchen facilities, internet, washing machine and most importantly a great air conditioning system were all excellent. They left us food for a meal and plenty of local information with recommendations. All in all, a very nice and most cost effective option in this beautiful quiet area with excellent access to the historic walled city. Also of note is the close proximity to the railway station underpass that is useful if travelling by train or as a means to access the city sights. The system of waste disposal was well advanced and demonstrated a commitment to the environment by the community. At the end of our several days, our hosts made sure all was well and assisted us again with our luggage.

Can’t think of anything

We had a perfect stay in this modern apartment. It is ideally situated close to the railway station, not far outside the city walls. It is exceptionally clean and comfortable, and is full of thoughtful touches that are appreciated whilst travelling. The owners were kind and helpful and met us on arrival to give us a guided tour. If we return to Lucca one day, and I hope we do as it’s lovely, we would stay here again without hesitation

Everything was bright and very clean. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was large. The small touches like ingredients for a pasta dinner, a sewing kit, a cart to pick up groceries and a list of recommended restaurants was very much appreciated. It was perfect for our family of 4. I would have stayed here a month. This was the best apartment of our trip so far.

Fantastic location, so easy from the train (and flat!). Up a couple of flights of stairs but no problems. Large space, very clean, and being able to use the washing machine with a sunny space to dry the clothes was great. It’s the little things that make this space a 10 rating - like flyscreens, decent hot water pressure, ingredients for a pasta dinner, and a quiet neighbourhood.

Beautifully decorated and comfortable apartment for the four of us. Had everything we needed and was very easy to settle in. Super close to the train station, and very short wander into Lucca central. Hosts very communicative and met us at the apartment, offering any help needed, and also some food essentials. Lucca itself we loved, and would like to come back to.
