Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandCristina is a great host. She took the time to provide us with tips, was always available to help us, but without being "intrusive". Superb, clean and tastefully decorated apartment in an old building (with elevator). Ideally located in the old city, next to bars, restaurants and landmarks. Nice breakfast.

United StatesIt was a little difficult to find without knowing what to expect. When you enter the outer courtyard you may only see large wooden doors (though the number 5 is plainly visible). I’d suggest you ask Cristina to tell you what name to look for on the panel of buzzers.
A very spacious and comfortable property. It is Cristina’s home which she shares with guests in one suite and two individual rooms. Perfectly situated on a major pedestrianized street in the historic center. Cristina is extremely helpful and kind.

SwitzerlandWe where there on a Friday night in the automn and it was quite loud as bars are close by. So with somewhat open windows we had to sleep with earplugs and even with those we heard the noise.
The rooms are wonderful and spacious. Breakfast was lovely and the host very kind. It is in the city center so everything can be reached by foot.

AustraliaBeing very close to a very, very loud precinct, you need ear plugs to get a decent night's sleep. Breakfasts were hit and miss, mainly miss.
Cristina is a great host. The apartment was beautifully decorated, with original art, and great music. Very secure. There are also facilities to leave luggage which was super helpful.

Host was so wonderful and welcoming! The apartment was simply stunning. Would 100% stay again.

United StatesEverything was great.
Great location within walking distance of bars, restaurants, shops and attractions in Palermo. I really enjoyed exploring everything around the area. The apartment is large and beautifully decorated. The owner, Cristina, has excellent taste and her home is very welcoming. There is a lift, which is very much appreciated. No climbing stairs! My room and bed were very comfortable, and the common rooms are quite spacious. Cristina gave me a map and marked some of her favorite places for me. I appreciated that, as it included several excellent places that weren't already on my list.

I'd say perfect location to stay in Palermo, round the corner of the building you can reach the Vuccria market and a short walk to Quattro Canti, etc., airport bus is just 5-mins on foot away from the apartment. The onwer Cristina is a frank, good hearted person, and I do appreciate her great help facilitating my check-in as I flew in Palermo quite late at night. Look forward to coming back soon 😊💖

United StatesAs I say, in my answer, above to the question about location, there is a problem, which is not of the hosts, making and is out of her control. A problem which must affect all the hotels and bed and breakfasts in the neighborhood. The local authorities and police tolerate ludicrous, very loud music in a Public Square very late into the night every night of the week, this is a political problem that suggests, very sadly, that organized crime still enjoys a free hand in Palermo
Christina is a very gracious and kind host. She has opened up a magnificent historic home to be a very charming bed and breakfast. She offers superb lights, continental breakfast of fruit, salad, yogurt and delicious pastries with piping hot coffee and a good selection of teas the home is very tastefully decorated, the rooms are very private.

Christina is a very elegant international woman wiho had a fascinating life. We were guests in her huge apartment in a historic palazzo in a marvelouos location where we could walk. She provided us with important information about Palermo. We were in the heart of Palermo old city. Her apartment is on the 3rd floor and unfortunately the elevator was broken and it was a national holiday. She arranged for a strong young man to carry our bags up and the next day the elevator was fixed We upgraded to an ensuite room and the bathroom was tremendous. Christina arranged for a ride so we could pick up our rental car for the remainder of our trip in Sicily. In Palermo make sure to visit the MARIONETTE theater with museum of internatiional marionettes-Antonio Pasqualino Puppet museum

AustraliaNothing to complain about.
Cristina helped me as a first time, non-Italian speaking visitor, to Palermo in the following kind ways: 1. Organised a very reliable personal private taxi driver (Mrs. Gigliola) to greet me at the airport who actually walked me to the front door of the house which was difficult to find in the dark as the police had blocked of the road for a short period for a festival. My connecting flight was also delayed but this was not a problem as we text through Whatsapp. 2. Offered me a welcome glass of nice Sicilian wine. 3.Pre booked an English speaking restaurant and walked me down several narrow streets in the dark and personally spoke to the owner. She came back 30 minutes later to ensure I was relocated to the best streetside table for my first enjoyable meal in Palermo! 4. Advised me where to visit a nearby leather craftsman to buy a beautiful handmade original backpack plus I got a short view of the workshop and small discount on the price. Thank you very much!
