Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBe careful the postcode takes you in the wrong direction . Call Dill at the apartment and he can give you directions into the property. If you are dining out the best restaurants are in Rome (obviously!) and Gondolfo overlooking lake Albano. The local town has all the fast food joints so good if coming in late but go further afield for the best restaurants - Gondolfo only a 20 min drive.
Perfect place to stay when visiting Rome with the kids. 2 minutes to the station, free parking and quick rain ride in to the centre of Rome. From the central station you can walk to all the major sites or catch a bus. There is a helpful booth outside the main entrance where you can get information on the buses. Great after a long day sight seeing to travel back to the apartment and swim in the cool pool. Better than staying in Rome with the kids. Also highly recommend canoeing around the lake at castle Gondolfo. Great beach club with pool there. Apartment perfectly places for both sites if you have a car. Dill who manages the property is such a great guy. He gave great advice, helped us when we locked ourselves out of the property, printed our boarding cards and even provided us with a laundry service. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks Dill. We’ll be back soon.

United KingdomIt is is need of investment to update the kitchen and bathrooms and general areas need improvement including the road up to the property.
Location is great for a train journey into Rome which takes 20 minutes. Close to Lake Gandolfo and the seaside. The accommodation is comfortable and clean, spacious garden room with its own garden and back yard. The staff particularly Dill and Jhony (from Sri Lanka) were perfect hosts.

Saudi ArabiaI have no complaints at all. The facility manager has provided everything we asked and took extra steps to resolve any issues we faced.
The Facility Manager (Mr. Dil) is an amazing gentleman. He guided us at every step and provided whatever support required. Amazing place and best service. Breathtaking landscape. Surely we will come again.

GermanySee above.
The residence is located on an old manor, with a huge and gorgeous garden. You get an appartement with your own garden, but you have access to the garden of the manor, too. There are three dogs and donkeys and cats on the manor. We have been travelling with our family with three kids and two dogs. Our dogs were allowed to walk around the manor on their own and unattended, and the dogs had lots of fun with the other animals of the residence (mentioned above). Our appartement was spacious and simple but nice decorated. Bedrooms were nice and spacious, too, beds were comfortable. There were three bathrooms. The kitchen is small, and not that well equipped. I would not have been cooking there, but we wanted to go out for dinner and went out for dinner anyway. For having breakfast, the kitchen was okay. Wifi is bad, and you have connection only at the reception. But that wasn't a problem, and the very nice manager of the location in the end gave us the router of the residence to our appartement. There is a very nice and large pool, and the pool-area is very well-tended. Nice gimmick, on the second day, we were invited to the 92-year old owner of the residence, speaking Italian, English, French and a little German, for an appetizer. The manager of the residence is just great, he's so nice and gentle, taking care of all the visitors, giving great recommendations for restaurants and things to do. Be aware, that you need a car to get arounf the area. But the Pomezia railroad station is only a 5 minute car-drive away, and for there you can go to Rome for about 2 Euros within 20minutes - just great. The value for money is great and unbeatable. Thank you very much. We had a great stay.

Personal very friendly and helpful. We had in Rome some problem with our car (damage), and they help us absolutely to solve our problem, i was very suprisesed and satisfied. Thank you again. The personal help us, and so saved our journey. Super, nice garden, two pools. After the visit of the noisi Rome, here is really an island of the silence on this country side.

RussiaIf you need good internet connectivity unfortunately there was no WiFi and the mobile internet connection was very poor at least in our house.
On arrival we learnt our room was changed to a complete apartment (own living room, sleeping room, kitchen, bathroom and small private garden) for the same price. Our cat was happy to have this territory in his possession. Also the manager was very pleasant and even gave us fresh vegetables and chicken eggs from his own household.

United KingdomThe facilities could be a lot better but need some updating. The villa is amazing but of limits as was the pool in that area. The cottage had lots of broken/not fully working items, in need of a good refresh.Location is accessed through an industrial estate, not pretty.
The idea of the place and its potential. The villa and gardens are beautiful.

NetherlandsSadly I did not look at the fact that there was no internet in the hotel. But regular 2/3/4G reception is also absent. So for people that want rest and no internet it is fine. Also in winter there is no restaurant so diner and breakfast is 10/15 min driving from the hotel. Which apparently was also present on the list of things which are not there….. The rooms (suits?!) are very!! outdated. It is like stepping back in time. The facilities are sort of functioning. The bathroom had rust in places. The shower curtain was sort of hanging …… and was dirty as was the rest of the shower. The toilet seat was there but not in place (it moved towards the back of the porcelain). The airco/heater makes a lot of noice. The dogs bark at night and the donkey’s make noise as well. To end with a more positive note: The bed was ok and the person of the “reception” was very friendly and helpful!!
