Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesEverything about Casanova was astounding. The views were picturesque, the grounds were immaculate and the pool was phenomenal. Our suite was idyllic, clean and exactly what we envisioned for a romantic, relaxing Italian getaway.

Bella! What an amazing stay. Exceeding all expectations - room, view, culinary, and WINE! Like dropping into a dream! Staff: helpful, happy. The owner greeted us as family! We will be back. Easy drives to Pienza, Montepulciano, Montulcino. We LOVED it all!

CanadaThe complimentary wine tasting was a let down. We weren’t informed this was even available to us so in our last night, we rushed back to the hotel so we could do the tasting. It turned out to be pretty lacklustre and lasted only 5 min. It would have been nice for this to have been a more luxurious experience considering the cost of the hotel overall.
Incredibly beautiful property! Staff was also super friendly and helpful. There are plenty of small villages nearby so as long as you have a car, you can easily visit them all. It was a great staying point for the trip while being able to travel around the area.

United KingdomIt was perfect but it was disappointing that we couldn’t use the pool the day we checked out- we only came for one day and we’re kicked out of the pool by noon. The place was also empty so it’s not like there were too many people and they were fully booked- it was literally just us and another couple- who wanted us to stay lol. So that ruined our experience

AustraliaThe Suite Poderuccio was on 2 levels and stair case between bathroom area and bedroom was not ideal. It was not as comfortable as the Suite we had on a previous visit. We remember the bed from last visit as being very comfortable and large, but we could not say that for this one. It was small and not comfortable. To use the hot tub for an hour you have to pay 110 euros. This is ridiculous and explains why it was always empty.
The staff are absolutely fabulous. Big Thank you to Paloma and Paola and Simona! The location is great. Close to Montalcino, but far enough out to have easy parking and expansive views and grounds. Breakfast was good. Inside breakfast room is lovely as is outside dining space. The comp wine tasting at their tasting room was most appreciated. The 12 pm check out is wonderful and made for a less stressful morning on the day we left. Pool area looks beautiful. Hope the next time we come weather will be such that we can enjoy it. We enjoyed being able to enjoy a salami board with a bottle of their wine on the terrace in the evenings. Their wines are great!!

United StatesWe had a travel issue and did not have a car. You will definitely want a car for this property and location.
Location was close to Montalcino but still in the Tuscan countryside (think quiet). The staff were great, the food was nice (breakfast and dinners). The winery was wonderful.

BelgiumA bit overpriced we thought, as little is included. The pool is only opened until 7PM which is very early when you spend the day outside and want to take some time to relax. Same for the wellness area, for which you have to pay extra…

United KingdomThe property is beautiful and nicely decorated. It has the charming of a Tuscan village and amazing views. The infinity pool facing Montalcino fortress is a plus! If you are lucky enough you can even spot some deers in front of the forest near the hotel. It is located in a quiet area just a few minutes driving from Montalcino city centre. Breakfast options are nice and diverse. Staff is friendly, gentle and makes you feel very welcome. Paula was always with a smile on her face bringing us breakfast delights. And, to complement, Casanova di Neri was one of the precursors of the Brunello di Montalcino and produces one the most elegant Brunellos. They offer tastings to the hotel guests!

AustraliaAs with most properties in Tuscany, it’s advantageous to have a vehicle in order to travel around. This property doesn’t have a fully equipped kitchen serving all day which wasn’t an issue for us as we had a car, but something to keep in mind if you don’t.

SwitzerlandPart of the reception staff was untrained and did appear a bit clueless. Not in line at all with a hotel in this category. Additionally we had dinner there the first evening and it was really lousy yet quite pricy with 70 Euro per person just for the food. The setting on the terrace is very nice but I would only go there to drink a glass of wine and have some cheese. I believe that the management really has to do something about this. Either decide to deliver good quality and invest accordingly of make it a Bed & Breakfast only and partner with some delivery service companies.
Breakfast was nice but not exceptional. Customers are asked to pick on a list of items the evening before. Perhaps good to avoid waste but one loses a bit flexibility

The location is spectacular. We had a wonderful welcome. We were treated to fabulous meals and number1 wines from the estate along with the best service ever from the delightful Ganty. Our room was big spotless and airy. The other guests were charming and the pool was refreshing. And to top it off a beautiful farewell from the owner and a fabulous tasting at the cellar. We feel very blessed to have found this place.
