Two flights of stairs to get to the property. Might be a slight struggle with heavy luggage.

The apartment was very comfortable, spacious and very clean and only a short walk to the Sassi. Excellent laundry facilities with a huge area on the balcony to dry. The host Maurizio was exceptionally helpful. He made arrangements so we could check in earlier and welcomed us with a fridge full of drinks and food. He gave us very clear instructions to get into the apartment and was always very quick to respond to any questions we had. He even kindly suggested some nice restaurants in Matera.

Obviously nothing…. Just one thing you may want to consider, the apartment is on the 2nd floor. But the stairs are worth the stay. Maybe do some training before you come🤪😂

From start to finish this Accommodation left us not wanting for anything. Exceeded all expectations. We had a contactless checkin which due to Maurizio’s extensive and clear instructions made it so easy. Depending on the time of day you can park right at the front door (really cheap paid parking) we paid for 1 hour (.50), unloaded the car then found heaps of free all day parking literally around the corner. The apartment is equipped with everything you could possibly need. The washing machine was a bonus. The host left us a huge range of food and drinks including bakery items, pizza, cookies eggs, milk, juice, water, yoghurt, fresh cherry tomatoes, cheese and even beer and limoncello! The pantry was stocked with pasta and bottles of pasatta and condiments. Heaps of coffee pods as well. The free wifi worked well. I wanted to try a local typical dish called Pignata (google it) and the restaurant “La Pignata” Maurizio recommended was superb. For your information there were 2 split systems, one in the bedroom and one in the living area. It was very hot in Matera and the air conditioner was a godsend. One last thing the location was good, a 10min walk into Matera Centro.

The accommodation's location and facilities exceeded all expectations. The breakfast prepared by the host was very delicious, especially the focaccia from the local bakery.

We really enjoyed our stay at Casetta Gattini. The apartment is on the top floor of a building located within a short walk from the Sassi. This apartment is tastefully furnished and exceptionally well appointed, with all amenities that you can possibly think of. There is a private rooftop terrace perfect for lounging or enjoying a meal. The keys were super easy to collect. When we arrived we found lovely fresh bread and cold drinks in the fridge. Communication with the host was great. Maurizio responded very quickly, he was very friendly and gave us useful tips to visit the town and advised us on local restaurants.

It was perfect!

Maurizio was really welcoming and helpful. He provided lots of food and drink, including fresh bread, pastries, beers and water in the fridge as well as yoghurts, butter and jams.

The property owner Maurizio explained everything so well on how to get into property and has made the apartment into a lovely home for a stay. You could not fault it and many special items in fridge! The apartment was 5 minutes to the centre of the old town and some good restaurants around. The only criticism we had is if you are elderly you will have to go up two sets of steep stairs which may not suit some. We love it and telling all friends this is the only place to stay👌👌

We had a beautiful stay at Cesetta Gattini - the apartment was absolutely perfect and stocked with everything you could need on a trip (washing machine, iron, beautiful food & drinks)! The location is a quick 10 minute walk from the old town centre.

Maurizio is the perfect host. We arrived in a super clean modern luxury apartment. The apartment is spacy and bright. Maurizio prepared stuff for breakfast and even dinner (Pasta, sauce, Popcorn) and drinks for free. The Sassis and city centre are just a ten minutes walk away.
