Katarina was wonderful,and took time to help me with my Italian. The food and their wine was molto buono. The place has a beautiful charm as does everyone that works there, we would definitely come back.

Great location. Good breakfast. One night we went for a drink and left our car on the parking of an nearby restaurant. When we left the bar, the gate of the parking was closed so a friendly customer brought us back to the hotel. The next morning the host was so kind to bring us back to our car. We want to express our gratitude again for this!

When we arrived, we were given a history tour of the castel. The place is absolutely amazing and so beautiful, as well as peaceful. Stunning views. They even arranged a horse ride for us. The rooms are clean and beautiful. The beds were so comfy. Huge variety for breakfast. They even made us eggs. We didn't want to leave.

Nice & quiet. Relatively central spot to explore Tuscany. Pool was very welcoming on hot days. Room was large.

Aircon and bathroom fan a little noisy but you soon got used to it. A kettle and coffee making facilities in the bedrooms would be helpful

Beautiful countryside and buildings. Stayed in the hotel rooms which were comfortable, rustic and in keeping with Tuscany. Spotlessly clean and we had Air-con which was a blessing in the heat. Breakfast was lovely and we had home made muffins. A very nice pool area just a little walk from the rooms, just make sure you take what you need with you. Dealt with 2 receptionists who were very helpful and spoke great English which was good because we didn’t speak any Italian

An amazing authentic Tuscan castle that is well located to surrounding villages and provides a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Staff are very helpful and engaging.

Poor inventory of basic equipment eg 1 tumbler, 1 wineglass. no scissors, spatulas, drying rack. Admittedly, they were supplied on request but the guest should not have to waste time listing shortages. No bedside tables just small inadequate curved shelves.

Good pool. Grand old building in pleasant location. The receptionist was very helpful.

The only thing which wasn’t great was the air conditioning. Italy was going through a heat wave at the time and the air con didn’t keep up unfortunately.

It was just magical and so quiet. After visiting Florence for the day with so many tourists, I was grateful to be in this peaceful place. The staff were amazing. Helpful in every way!

Check in was so late and check out was too early! The pool closed at 8 p.m. we didn’t have a chance to enjoy it! To be fair we only stayed one night.

We love it here! And Mauro is the best! We stayed at Castel Pietraio for 3 nights and it was the perfect base for our day trips to neighboring towns. The inclusion of breakfast in the mornings had everything we needed, and the room was clean and cozy. Mauro, the owner, gave us a tour of the cantina and taught us about their wine making process. You can tell he works hard and has a kind heart. We had a wine tasting afterwards and would have bought every single bottle if we didn't have to pack lightly.
