Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe moved into the junior suite which was incredible but it did not have air con or a shower (though the whirlpool bath was impressive!) - a little difficult in July heat but it would be outstanding in slightly more mild temperatures.
The castle was amazing, so many original features and intricately decorated whilst still being clean and comfortable. Very nice toiletries were a lovely touch.

United StatesThe location is pretty inconvenient, but the hotel was able to help us arrange a car to get to nearest train station (Pescara). There is little do to in the area around the castle, so plan on just chilling on site!
Our stay here was amazing! The staff was so kind and helpful, the castle itself was beautiful, the dinner restaurant was so yummy and convenient, and the breakfast was charming and adequate. We also partook of a wine tasting on site that was super special and tasty! The pool area is also lovely.

AustraliaAs it was the end of the season the possibility of having dinner there, was not possible. Being already in the middle of October it was not viable to provide this service. There is a least a 15minute drive to a restaurant, google maps is quite unreliable when driving around searching for the restaurant at night.
Loved the authenticity of the place. The restoration is impressive, the ambience is fabulous and the view of the vineyards from our room was beautiful. It is worth getting up just before Dawn to watch the sun rise, wander around through the olive trees and through the grape vines. Also make sure you arrive before sunset, as this is stunning here also. It is a romantic place.

What was there not to like?? Castello Di Semivicoli is the most amazing place to stay. Located high above vineyards and olive groves with mountains in the distance it's stunning. Rooms are unique and beautifully restored, but with modern twists.

United KingdomWhile people at reception were friendly enough, we seemed to keep getting the same guy taking our food and drink orders both at the pool and the restaurant. He was so distracted by other people (not sure if they were guests or not) that we felt quite overlooked on several occasions. There was no access to a bar inside, which wasn’t too much of a problem - the pool area is lovely. However, I felt second class because we hadn’t booked into the wine tasting. We should have booked ahead, but didn’t think about it too much. I think the good staff were probably busy doing that! I think it would have been a better experience if we had booked that.
The hotel occupies a beautiful position in the mountains and the way it’s been designed as a hotel from a Barron’s palace is lovely. Our room felt luxurious while sympathetic to it’s past too. The golden snails and bees were a lovely touch. They were being installed during our stay. The room where we had breakfast was my favourite. Full of trinkets and curiosities to keep you occupied while you eat. It’s set up for destination weddings and it would be wonderful for that.

United StatesHaving been always fans of the Masciarelli wines, especially the Marina Cvetic wine line, Castello di Semivicoli it’s been a destination in our list. Nested in the beautiful hills in the Chieti province, this former baronial castle is lovely, a perfect location for a relaxing, enjoyable stay for wine lovers who also love nature and the comforts and elegance of a place that offers interesting accommodations, art and fantastic views. The staff led by Luce are excellent. The breakfast generous and served in beautiful & quaint areas. The wine tasting room is so inviting with the fantastic and antique wine barrels. The Castello has a great mix of antiques and contemporary art, as are the tasteful suites: enjoyed the bathtub in ours! Dinner was great and of course the wine pairing excellent. Can’t wait to come back to this place we highly recommend to others: Abruzzo has so much to offer! Thank you very much Luce, Alessandro, Stefano and all the staff.
