Make sure you book the triple with balcony, others had triple with no balcony and no view.

The location was great, the view from the window was probably one of the best in Matera, the host Nunzio was friendly and he provided tips for restaurants and parking and how to get to the hotel. Overall great stay at Cave rooms sassi.

The stairs for mezzanine are really steep.

The location of the apartment is great. It was really warm in it, even if we did not use the AC to heat up, as nights were still cold. Beds are comfortable. The only thing that would make the experience better is the wine corkscrew ;)

The location (and view) was fantastic. It's really worth taking the time to stay in Matera and experience it at night when the daytrippers have gone, and how better to do it than in a cave room? The Cave Rooms are in a great location, easily accessible from the station, and my room had a beautiful view of the Duomo. Check in was really easy and Nunzio was a great host with lots of helpful ideas and suggestions from my stay. I would definitely stay here again on a future visit.

Parking was a bit difficult, but the host provided plenty of information about this, and I’m sure they can’t do much about it. There was a kettle with instant coffee, but on other places there were pod machines. I don’t mind it that much, there are plenty of cheap cafes in the town, so this is minor thing.

The host was lovely, provided lots of information and recommended a place to eat with a discount for his guests. The location was great for exploring the beautiful old town with cave homes! The room itself was beautiful. The shower and toilet were separate which is very good.

Hey, it was a "cave". Not all the amenities were 5-star and air might feel a bit humid & stale when getting in. But to me, that was a part of an experience. No complaints!!!

The authenticity of Matera experiment. Room was maybe not exactly in a cave but not far of it either. And it was BEAUTIFUL. Sufficiently functional too with special mention for a beautiful shower.

I liked everything honestly.

It was in a great location; very clean, people were friendly. The shower was actually amazing which was an unexpected surprise! My friend and I had a great time staying here. It was a really unique experience.

The location is very central, the host are very kind and very attentive, pending of everything and resolving any situation. We felt as home and with the confidence to count with help in case we need it. The room was a typical Sassi room with all the comodities.

One our first night the pillows were quite lumpy, but after letting the housekeeper know we were provided with better pillows for a restful night’s sleep.

Great location! It was very authentic with a cave-style shower. Good wifi considering the location and thick walls. Excellent communication when checking in and responsive via text. The cave room is located down some stairs and in a small, shared courtyard, so it is a very quiet and enclosed area.
