Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyI have an advice, more than what I didn't like .... my suggestion is to add the chance for the guest for grabbing some food at the cafeteria.
The location of this hotel is simply amazing. Great experience, which I suggest to all those who likes to experience something like nothing else. The staff is very cordial and professional, and the breakfast is really yummy. Rooms are clean and very comfy.

United StatesIt is not that easy to get to the hotel (there are 5 different elevators to take), but it is to be expected given the structure of the Forte. It would have been nice to have a restaurant open on the premises (there is one, but it was closed), since it is hard to leave and come back, but all was good. Overall, it was well worth the climb.
You cannot beat this location - the Hotel is *inside* a historical building, the Forte di Bard! The rooms are spacious and offer a fantastic view of the whole Valle d'Aosta, and wandering at the top of the Forte at night makes you feel like you are a nobleperson from another time. Truly a fantastic place, and the most unique stay I have had. We also loved that the hotel is next to the Forte museum, and staying there grants you discounts to both the museums and the bookstore. Finally, breakfast was included and took place at the Forte cafè - so we had lots of excellent options to choose from. I absolutely recommend this hotel.

RussiaOnly the fact that my phone failed to connect to the free wi-fi here. However, my friend managed to get the connection on hers.
I think, Forte di Bard is not only an absolute must-see in Valle d'Aosta but also - thanks to this little hotel located inside it - a must-stay place. Staying here at least for a night changes your experience from just visiting a historical monument to actually living in it, sort of "possessing" it when the museums are closed and tourists go away. After the trip you can proudly show the photos of the fort and say: "This is my hotel!") + Location is on the top level of Forte di Bard with a system of lifts which function all the time and are free for you. There's also a nice little village of Bard below and also a nice village of Hone across the bridge over the Dora Baltea. + The room is very spacious, comfortable, extremely quiet, with good beds and linen. Very spacious bathroom as well, and I really enjoyed the cosmetic products offered here. + Breakfast is tasty. + Friendly staff, we had a very warm welcome at the arrival. + Great value for money! Absolutely recommended! Honestly speaking, visiting the fort without staying here seems to me lacking some important experience.

United KingdomAlthough your night stay allows you a ticket to visit the castle, all the exhibitions cost extra.
Although it was a Monday and the castle was closed it was possible to wander around the castle grounds without any problems, food that night was limited and it was really a short drive or long walk to the nearest pizzeria. The room was excellent great views and a balcony over looking the valley. Massive bathroom and good toiletries. Getting up to the castle wasn’t an issue as there was no one around but if it was busy then it might be different. Our dog was welcomed with open arms and fussed a lot. There are grass areas in the grounds for that evening you know what. Breakfast was in the cafe from 0800 and it was very good and the staff were were friendly to us and our dog.

Absolutely fantastic: perfect location inside the fort, good restaurants nearby, the magic feeling of a historic site, plus great museums and animations (especially amazing the prisons , the museum of alps and the wildlife photography exhibition). The personnel is very welcoming and friendly and the restaurant la polveriera is also extremely good! To be repeated.

IrelandBreakfast is in the coffee shopping, in front of the hotel … you choose what you want from there, like pastries, sandwiches, croissants, yogurt, cereal …I wish they would have some eggs… nice coffee btw :)
Spending a night in that hotel is to get an experience to stay in a fortress just for yourself(in the evening and in the morning)… staff are extremely nice, specially the girl who speaks English very well! I’ve seen some reviews complaining about the 3 lifts(gondola), that you gonna spend 20 minutes going up/down but that’s part of the experience! :) Comfortable bed, hot/strong shower … heater… very quiet at night! Also very fair price per night, I recommend it!

Very warm welcome! Super friendly and helpfull staff. Such a special place to stay!! Really unique! So cool to explore the Fort without other visitors during evening time or in the morning. Even reaching the Fort with the 4 elevators is adventurous. Room was perfect, enough space, comfy bed, very clean, little balcony - very special in this height.

United KingdomNothing not to like
Fantastic adventure! You basically share the fort with only few people after it closes ar 6pm as there is only 10 rooms in total. Lovely rooms and great staff. Reception very helpful. Do check the access before staying there - you can only access the hotel via 3 different gondola style lifts so maybe limiting to some people but we loved it. Also dogs welcomed so another plus
