How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The super helpful and always available host. Starting from guiding us to find exact location & parking, giving us time saving tips on the commute to cinque terre, the best restaurants, ice cream shops, cake shops, shopping area ; giving us tip on where to find secure parking in Pisa/Florence. She indeed went far more than we could expect any host to help us. In fact, when I mentioned about uncomfortable sleep, she brought new mattress to make our stay comfortable. Anytime we had a need, she was just a WhatsApp away. She truely represents what service leadership could mean.

I give only 10 because there is no 11! Everything was perfect: location is few minutes from railway station and just im downtown with lots of restaurants and shops near; the room is new and very clean. The host, Etleva is incredibly hospitable! She gave us all the informations useful about our trip to Cinqueterre and recomand us fine restaurants. Thank you, Etleva, we will come back!!

The hostess was waiting for us in the apartment to explain the location and to hand over the keys. The apartment is located in the middle of the city, at walking distance to all places. The apartment was fully equipped. We enjoyed our stay. The hostess gave us good tips for visiting Cinque Terre and the surrounding area.

It is the perfect place to stay when visiting Cinque Terre. The property is a short walk away from both the train station and the port, so you can easily reach all the villages by train or by ferry. The rooms are beautifully furnished, modern and clean. Etleva is a wonderful host. She was always available and kindly answered all of our questions. She even showed us the safest and cheapest place to park our car, just 2 minutes away from the property. The tips and tricks she provided have made our vacation even better.

We liked everything and had a great stay. The hostess was so friendly and eager to help us with any questions and also offering her advice on sightseeing, restaurants etc.
We loved the location, it was so close to the train station and also so close to the main strip of shops and restaurants.

Nice studio apartment near to railway station, short walk to the port. Room was spacious. The main bed is a fold down sofa which was reasonably comfortable

It was very comfortable and was very close to the station. The host was super interactive and helped us even off her working hours. It was big enough to host a group as big as ours, and we were quite thrilled.

The best stay experience ever! The hostess was very enthusiastic and introduced us to many local tips and recommended great restaurants. The following points are worth recommending: 1. Excellent location: It's very close to the train station, and it's very convenient to go to any of the Cinque Terre villages. 2. Very comfortable room: The best stay experience ever, with a spacious living room and a kitchen to cook your own meals. The room is also very comfortable and spacious. 3. Room cleanliness: Very clean. It's very satisfying to have such a clean room for a non-hotel type of accommodation.

We were met at the door and shown how to use everything. Also given lots of information about sites, restaurants and ferries. Very friendly and helpful host and the room was great.

The soundproofing of appartements is not very good and the bed was not very comfortable.
The kindness of Etleva and his husband was just incredible from first to last minute: they were not only available anytime during our stay but they also gave many tips about best plans and visits. We highly recommend them.

Room was quite small but no complaints as the size was clearly given so we knew beforehand. Its on the 5th floor so 128 steps or use the small elevator.
Location close to train station. Etleva's husband met us in the foyer of the building on time. Clearly explained building and room facilities and made us feel very welcome. An excellent bottle of Italian Red wine was very thoughtful.

The bed was two mattress with a gap in the middle - my only complaint!
Great location very near train station. The hosts were amazing. Communication was fantastic the hosts were welcoming and gave us lots of tips. On the hosts suggestion we had dinner at Nana which was only 3min walk away and the best restaurant I went to in Italy! They also gave me a free bottle of wine on arrival!!! Thank you so much.

Only 1 bathroom and sometimes the elevator didn’t work.
The location was great. Within a 5 min walk from the station and right next to the main shopping/dining area. Very convenient!
