Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalySince the ground floor is a trattoria, you can get hungry all the time as the profumo of the food permeates the room.
My room has the view of the main piazza so perfect to see everybody’s whereabouts. The trattoria at the lobby serves the menu of the day and I had polenta al cinghiale for an early dinner. And they give a free breakfast ticket to the opposite coffee shop. The staff was commendable too.

United StatesThe room required a significant climb up some stairs inside the B&B with no assistance offered by the staff.
Really liked being in the center of this remarkable place. The quiet of the early morning and late afternoon and evening was notable. The evening meal we had at the local bistro was nice, and the breakfast included at the cafe across the square was good though limited in choices.

United KingdomThe bed was a little uncomfortable and we couldn’t have the included breakfast. We were told it was at a local restaurant which apparently didn’t open until 9am. Civita Di Bagnoregio is fairly small however we couldn’t actually find the restaurant they told us to go to.
Very central with a great view over the square. Had dinner in the restaurant and it was really good!

United StatesThe staff wasn't particularly friendly or helpful. We really felt like " yet another tourist". The spring mattress bed was squeaky when we moved. The bathroom was very small for 2 people. Civita Bagnoregio was disappointing. It's called the dying city. Only 11 inhabitants & thousands of tourists everyday. Civita Bagnoregio is nice to visit for a few hours but i wouldn't bother staying there.
The location was great with a view from our bedroom window onto the center piazza. The fact that we were the only ones in this 3 bedroom hotel. Very quiet. Via messages & phone, Franco, the owner, was very responsive & helpful, but we never met him.

Chinathere was a wierd thing, that the 2nd noon, there were 3 times people pressed handle of my door, opened it, took a little glance inside my room and then closed my door. although I told them my room is a guest room with room number on door , not a toilet, still people tried to come in by intention. Maybe Anyone could be so kind to let me know what I did wrong to get this experience.
I met 2 Chinese staff in this property, 1 mom 1 daughter. they are super nice to me and helped me a lot ,eg .check bus time table for me. Also we had a good conversation and I got a lot of useful suggestions about my travel in Italy from them. it's pleasant to stay nights in civita with their kindness and help.

IrelandWe stay here frequently so I have reviewed before. It remains my favourite place in the old town. The rooms are nice, cozy, and overlook the old square which is a surreal experience at night when most tourists are gone and the town is silent. Definitely recommend.

AustraliaThe tv was unable to display any tv channels. Although. the town is small, I found the lack of signage, meant it was difficult to initially find the B&B!
The location was perfect and the room was a good size and comfortable. The view down onto the main square was a bonus, I really enjoyed! A test of a good bathroom is when even though the shower is small, no water escaped onto the floor! Breakfast, is not had at the B&B, but at a bar in the square, consisting of a pastry and coffee of choice. I was able to leave my bags after checkout, which is always appreciated.

IrelandEverything perfect.
This continues to be one of my favorite hotels. I’ve stayed here a few times now throughout the years and it’s truly one of a kind. The experience of staying in a very quiet and ancient hill town is like no other. The b&b with its views of the medieval square is amazing and the staff are friendly. The lunch served at the restaurant during the day is delicious as well!!

United StatesAbsolutely unwelcoming reception, although staff later warmed up. We arrived on a Monday afternoon and they closed the premises on Tuesday so there was no one around all day and night and we ran out of TP. Rooms were super small. We had to share a bathroom with the public, which was not expected. Shower overflows because no one explained the stopper. No AC and no fans. We do not recommend this hotel.
It was right on the central square, which was a perfect location. And it was in a historic building so that was really nice. Cold drinking water was provided, important on hot days. They did arrange for someone to take our luggage across the bridge, which was nice. The town itself is a gem but don't stay more than 1 night or just make it a day trip. And nothing for a teenager to do.

Amazing location, right in the heart of old top of the hill town. Everything was excellent, from the way I interact with the owner, mr Franco, which gives me orientational advices at phone, to the lady that wellcomed us and at the one that served us at the down stairs trattoria. And not the last, the chef that cooked, the food at ”Antico Forno” was excellent and the ”cinghiale con polenta” was the best ever had.

SloveniaExcellent location in the very center of the town with a view of the main square and the church. Extremely friendly staff. A large bottle of water upon arrival. Breakfast in the neighboring bar with a view of the main square - wonderful. For breakfast only a croissant and coffee/tea. My daughter and I knew this and we had had enough. Parking space immediately in front of the bridge; only 5 euros/day.
