Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Claudio was a wonderful host! He invited us to a festival in town and was very accommodating. The B&B is very stunning, we loved the very special room in the tower that we stayed in. We could use the bikes to ride to the city. Also the breakfast was very delicious and had a great variety. Would definitely recommend staying there!

United KingdomIt was beautiful by the river and had such a homely feel. Our host was so helpful in local advice regarding Firenze which was very easy to access from the B&B. All this with an exceptional breakfast.

MalaysiaWifi was patchy & reception wasn't much better. It made planning our day a little difficult.
This B&B is enchanting, the room we had was beautiful. It was clean & towels were provided. We had a great view of the river & could hear the water rushing by. There are sockets by the bed. There were enough clothes hangers & hooks for clothes & coats. Bathroom was large enough & shower had good water pressure. Breakfast consisted of sweet pastries, bread & various jams, cereal, eggs, meats & cheese etc. There is a bus stop about 6 mins walk from the B&B that takes you to the centre of Florence in 30 mins. It's a little out of the way, but the experience of this B&B is worth it. Claudio was responsive over text & welcoming in-person. We enjoyed our time there & wish we could've stayed for longer.

GermanyThis is amazing place! You are really need to come here. The host is best one we met in our long jorney. The room is like from fairytale and very romantic, but with all modern facilities: for ex. airconditioning. To spend sometime with your partner there is the best idea. The bathroom is very clean and you will find all, that you need. The breakfast is amazing and every time is different. To go to Flirence will take 15 minutes with bus. To go to bus 3 min. It is really the best place to stay in Florence!:)

BelgiumWe really enjoyed our stay, but felt there were a few shortcomings, most of them easily fixable. The bath room was private, but didn't have an outside window, and felt pretty hot/damp. Also, the water in the pool was a bit mirky, so perhaps refresh that? The bikes were very handy, but most of them really could do with some maintenance.
First off, the location is wonderful. Situated at the end of a one-way street, La Martellina has a kind of quiet oasis vibe. It's right next to the river, which is lovely (although that means it naturally comes with mosquitoes). And in that garden you'll find Daisy, the dog of the house, who we also loved. Our room was clean, and uniquely set in the tower of the house with a magnificent large window overviewing the river Arno. We really enjoyed the breakfast! There was too much to even begin to try everything, and there were different homemade pies and quiches, all wonderful. It was served by Olivia, who was very friendly, and a perfect host. The pool in the garden was not the largest, but perfect to cool down during a hot day. Another feature we enjoyed was the bikes that are available there. That way, we could cycle to the centre of Florence (8km, 30 minutes), which we much preferred to taking the bus. Taking your car into Florence is a virtual impossibility, so don't try that.

IsraelWe didn't have enough time in the property to actually sit and relax, as we were exploring the city... If you look for a place to enjoy nature, write a book and relax - this is the place!
My daughter and I loved to stay at La Martellina. Location very close to Florence, easy to take the bus to the city, takes around 20 minutes. The place has wonderful breakfast and many beautiful nature spots, with good atmosphere, where you can relax and enjoy the river view. Exceptional hospitality of Claudio, the owner. He is generous, kind, funny and interesting person who knows the history of Italy. I forgot to mention in the booking that my daughter eats gluten free food, as soon as he heard about it, he went to the store and got a variety of tasty food for her, we really appreciate it. The room located in the tower from 1100 has a unique atmosphere. Great to leave the window open, to hear the water from the river. Because it is an old historic tower, the access to the room has spiral stairs. stairs are good but it is narrow, so recommend to bring trolley and not large suitcases.
