The windy weather

We loved to stay at the guest house. It was very clean and comfortable. Viola, and her family was very kind and helpful. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom clean and tidy. We did not use the very nice balcony as the weather was very windy during our stay.

Our recent stay at Viola's place was a delight. The place was mmaculately clean, everything felt brand-new. Highly recommended! But what truly set this stay apart was our host, Viola. Her warm and genuine hospitality made us feel like cherished guests. She went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, offering helpful tips about the local area and making sure we had everything we needed. Viola’s attentiveness and kindness left an indelible mark on our hearts.

It's a bit of a walk to the action in Cagliari, which would not be a problem if your group is ok with a 15-minute walk but was challenging for my elderly mom

Viola was awesome. What a host. Helped us with travel tips, where to go, where to eat, what we should do and visit. So good. The apartment is very cute and comfortable and the breakfast is very nice. Not just Viola but the rest of the staff is great, including the baby and the dog:) Just perfect.

Absolutely fantastic stay here. My sister and I loved everything - from the decor to the breakfast. Viola is a wonderful caring host and has great recommendations for dinner. She made a restaurant reservation for us, which was perfect as it was the weekend. Strongly recommend staying here

The owner/host, Viola, was so helpful and caring and gave us all the info we needed about Cagliari! The rooms and the terrace were tastefully vintage decorated, newly renovated and most importantly very clean. And the tasty, homemade breakfast was a great homely touch! I would totally stay again!

Perfect spot with a personal touch and family atmosphere, extra comfy bed. All you need for a city trip. A good breakfast was served on a lovely terrace. As a bonus absolutely gorgeous dog Danny.

The only, really very small drawback was that the house is quite noisy and you sometimes heard the neighbours at night. But that was also absolutely within limits.

If I hadn't taken a taxi, I would have never found the guest house. Make sure you have data so you can use Google Maps or similar! The air conditioner was a little weak in the suite.

Viola was an exceptional host. She went out of her way to make a special breakfast every morning, including on my last morning when I had to leave super early for the airport. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and I loved my little suite and walk-in shower. The communal kitchen was wonderful if you wanted to relax with a cup of tea. Denny, the resident fur-baby and Viola's baby boy were special company whenever I had a chat with Viola, who always made time for me. I felt her Sardinian hospitality and it was the best experience of my whole trip! I would recommend anyone to stay at Contus Retro Guest House for some of this hospitality and I really hope to see Viola and Vitto again someday!

Great and lovely guest house close to the city center in a quiet area. The hosts gave us great recommendations in terms of places to visit and bars and restaurants. They were really helpful and kind!

Viola and Vitto were so kind and picked us up from the bus station, as the buses weren't running, due to Easter. The apartment is perfect and they have thought of everything. The bed is comfortable and so are the pillows. There is aircon and heating, but we didn't need it, even though it was cold outside, the room was warm. Lots of hanging space, mirrors, shelving, lovely big fluffy towels. The bathroom is nice and big with a lovely big shower with a rain head. There was a lot of room as it had been so cleverly laid out. Big TV on the wall, good wifi and very, very clean. We had the simple breakfast, with tasty homemade cake and coffee, there was also juice, tea etc. Almost next door there is a fabulous Pizza place too. It is only a short walk into town, plus the buses do run down that street, close to the apartment. I would highly recommend staying here and thanks Viola and Vitto for making us feel so welcome and looking after us.

The owner,, Viola, is super helpful. The rooms are well eqqupped and very clean. The location is convenient. Although breakfast was not included, we were offered complimentary coffee and pastries every morning. Overall, would strongly recommend!

Absolutely lovely little place to stay in Cagliari! We loved every minute of our stay. The room has everything you could ask for and was super clean. Such a welcoming atmosphere and Viola and Vito are extraordinary friendly people! Also they provided us with amazing recommendations for beaches, restaurants, bars etc. 100% recommendation
