Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSadly the house is right under the flightpath, close to Marco Polo airport, so noisy, although the planes do stop at night. There was a young lad to help with luggage when we arrived as there is no lift and we were put on the second floor. He was gone the day we left so had to haul it down again. The meal options became confusing, with them showing a restaurant style menu which was strangely ignored in favour of pasta. Although they clearly know what they're doing, I fear maintenance of such a large place is becoming too much for the elderly owners.
This is a lovely old house, refurbished from a shell many years ago. While a quality renovation at the time, it's now a charming time warp. The elderly owners and dogs welcome you with smiles and good English. The room was comfortable and clean. The gardens are charming. Nature is all around. Swallows nest under the eaves. Walking around the garden at night we heard an owl and frog-song. There is a huge pool complex, not operational at the time of our visit but once obviously a popular club. Once working it would be amazing. Beyond the pool is a meadow with a curve on the river and its own boat dock, Venetian style. We felt it could be a birdwatcher's paradise. It was very convenient to get to the airport as the owners offered a shuttle. They also cooked us a pasta meal with salad. The panna cotta was amazing.

Very convenient for an overnight stay near to Marco Polo airport. Quirky accommodation, with lovely hosts. Rosa and her husband were friendly and welcoming and provided us with dinner, even though we arrived at 8.30 pm. Excellent value for money.

BelgiumNot recommended if you're a light sleeper - walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. It's an old farmhouse, so this is part of the charm of course, but take earplugs! (I slept just fine with my earplugs in). I found the place a bit tricky to get to on the bus as it was confusing to buy the ticket online - research in advance how to do this!
The owner is really lovely and helpful. The location is very convenient for the airport and set in peaceful nature - lovely walk by the lagoon nearby. Fresh croissants for breakfast were great. The garden outside is lovely.

United KingdomCan improve on breakfast options as croissants/ breads and Ham & cheese were the only options for £6 per person.
Convenient stay from the airport, staff is kind and good to spend a night. They have a big pool which was closed as we went there in April, homestyle property.

NetherlandsOne downside could be (not for me...) -- for people who sleep light -- vicinity of the airport; depending on wind direction departing or arriving planes go straight over the house.
Extremely nice country house surrounded by fields, a beautiful garden (and in summer a swimming pool). Old school and clean, very nice owners, and a decent restaurant. Bus transportation to Venice available for about 3 euros one way. They also offer boat tours to the less-known areas of Venice.

United StatesRosa and her husband were so gracious. We felt like we were staying in someone's home. The name of the facility reflects the feel. It is somewhat out in the country. We stayed there before our cruise and one night after. Each time Rosa let us get into our room early and that was much appreciated as we were exhausted. The food was very good and plentiful. I even enjoyed their two little dogs.

CanadaProperty is definitely on the older, dated side, but it was fine for a one night stay.
Location was great, so close to the airport. Food was also terrific - we had lunch and dinner there. The owner told us about a beach town about 20 minutes away and we went for a nice drive and walk along the beautiful beach. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. I loved the two little dogs at the property.

United KingdomNot much really. The mosquitoes were a bit of a pain while on the terrasse having dinner, but that's not an issue with the hotel - it's true of Venice at that time of year... even the Airport was "buzzing"..!
A nice little hotel, close to the airport and offering a great shuttle service. It's more of a "traditional" hotel, but the rooms are spacious, clean and perfectly comfortable. Dinner was very nice, and the terrasse had a lovely atmosphere and, although plane flew overhead occasionally, wasn't too noisy. I left too early to experience breakfast, but from the way they were preparing the evening before, it looked like it would have been good too. I didn't have an opportunity to use the pool, but it looked very nice as well. A/C in the room worked well and also deterred the mosquitoes! I initially booked this hotel when a late evening flight got cancelled and I rebooked on an early morning flight the following morning, particularly as they offer a shuttle service to/from the airport. Nevertheless, I'd be happy to stay here for a longer visit if I'm in the area again. One stand out thing was the attitude of the owners and key personnel. They were wonderful - warm, welcoming and accommodating. The seemed to be genuinely nice people.
