Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MaltaThe room would have been perfect if some small maintenance was done, nothing major. When we asked what the cost was to extend our checkout by 5hrs we were told €10 per hour, which in my opinion was a bit overpriced so we opted to just leave our bags in their storage room. The wall between rooms is so thin that we could hear everything that was going on in the room next to us.
The location was perfect right in front of the train station and bus station. They were helpful in storing our bags before checking in and after checking out free of charge. The room was spacious, very clean and the bed was comfy. We found a basket with some goodies and the mini fridge had also some beverages free of charge. Would stay again.

I felt very welcomed . They waited for me more than 1 hour on a Sunday night. Location is perfect to take the Italian train or Grimaldi Ferry or take a taxi. Lots of restaurants and convenience stores in the streets. It feels like a 60/70s appartement .

CanadaThis is not an hotel but rooms in a large apparement. Nobody on location. Had to call to get someone to come and do the check in. The keys for the street door and on the floor were a bit tricky (I was a bit anxious if I would be able to come back after dinner last night, but had no issue)

United KingdomThe room was beautiful, with a balcony which overlooked a traditional sardinian courtyard with beautiful plants hanging from balconies. Very good location. 2 minute walk to the centre and the translation is directly opposite. Free snacks were available and there is a lovely communal kitchen area with tea and coffee making facilities and a microwave. They also allowed us to store our luggage for the day as we had a late flight home.

GermanyYou could see that the room has had its best years.. lots of scratches & other marks on the wall, the bathroom stank from the sink, the water in the shower did not drain at all, so we had to stop showering in between to not flow the bathroom..
Great Location with loads of restaurants around - close to the Harbour - super nice & friendly stuff - beautiful elevator & a really sweet balcony in the backyard. Free snacks & water

United Kingdomhowever there were a lot of busses parking on the road. they waited for a long time, up to 20 minutes at times but none of the drivers ever switched off the engines. it was very noisy but more so it felt that we were getting a lot of really unclean air. Coming from London it's great to be somewhere like Sardinia to breathe in fresh air. This totally was not that. I would stay there again a the location is excellent but would ask for a room facing the courtyard.
we had a room facing over the train station. we were very happy with the location as it was right opposite the station which we needed as we wanted to use the train to get to the airport early next morning. the hotel is also very near the lovely old town. The lady who welcomed us was absolutely lovely and helpful .

AustriaPrice was a little bit high for italian conditions, but I think that this ist typically in Sardegna.
Marlin Rooms, located quite opposite the main train station is a nice place to stay in Cagliari. The appartment is not really visible at the first sight from the street, but it is within an nice nostalgic building with high rooms. We got the room with view at the courtyard - the room was calm and we liked it. The rooms were clean and spacious, also the bathroom was comfortable to use. Every room gets some beverages and snacks and it is possible to use the coffee machine and tea bags and tea pot. We did not have a breakfast in our rate but with these food and drinks a kind of breakfast "is included" in all rooms. The host ist very friendly. Outside the building there are two small food shops in the near and the main center is not far away. I think there are not much parking spots in the near but if you were with public transport like us in Sardegna it is a nice hotel. There are busses going directly and cheap to Vilasimius every morning at 8:15 (the ARST bus terminal is directly at the train station terminal), driving 1h and 20min to it. If you descend then in Vilasimius there are regulary driving beach busses from there ("Summer Bus") and visiting some of the beaches for the tourists.

LithuaniaThe most disappointing was that the room didn't look like the photos at all - very obvious it was used by hundreds of tourists - walls are stained and drenched. It was also obvious the bathroom has lived a flood. Nice to have a balcony but it is common with other rooms, so you don't really enjoy having even the windows open. Separating the balconies for each room for privacy would be nice. No parking which can sometimes be a problem. We stayed for 2 nights - 1 night we were lucky to find almost free (from 8 pm) parking in the square behind the building. The other night we paid 18 euros for parking in a nearby parking lot (they say 12 euros a day but counting restarts from midnight..).
Great location - you can easily walk to the old town, restaurants, shops etc. The rooms are located in an old building with an authentic lift that you can use. Even though there is no breakfast, they put some snacks, juice, water inside the room enough for one breakfast and you can use a common kitchen to get a coffee or warm up something in the microwave. There are also free beach umbrellas to use and some sun screens left by other travellers :)

IrelandThe thing I didn’t like about the property was it was a little dark. There is no day light going thru the room and I love to see brightness of the sun which was a pity. The bread in the basket was I suppose the breakfast which was alovely thought. Unfortunately the coffee machine didn’t work there was an instant coffee alternative. The bed was a but too soft and we were rolling to thw middle. But it was okay for a night.
The room was absolutely gorgeous! It’s very very clean. The bed up the stairs was amazing which out daughter really like. We were left with basket of bread and lovely complimentary drinks in the fridge. Solana was so so lovely and helped us with our stay and recommended places to dine. It is in the center of cagliari which was very very handy.

United KingdomI was disappointed that there wasn't an iron in the premises. There also is no parking, and it's hard to park on the streets nearby - although there is a big free carpark about 8-10 min walk away. Bed and pillows were not the most comfortable, but air conditioning was very useful during the heatwave!
Location was excellent - short walk to pretty much everything in Cagliari. The hotel is very clean, and kept in a good condition. I also liked that snacks and drinks were given and there was a mini fridge to keep things cold. Additionally, there were communal beach umbrellas, sun lotion, etc. that you can borrow as a guest. Staff were polite and answered all questions/requests promptly.
