How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We only found this hotel by chance, we were wandering around Sirmione and decided to stay overnight, the reviews for the hotel were good and we were happy with the price. The hotel was clean, the staff were helpful, and it was a great location - away from the busy centre flooded with tourists and just a short walk to the coast.

I didn't like that my first morning there, a man was using a power mower to mow the lawn at about 7:45 am. The management should know better than to wake up its guests in such an obnoxious way any time before 11 am or noon.

Not a very long wait for the room to be cleaned, but the comfort compensates for the wait.
It is very good hotel in a brilliant location. Modern and soft interior design. Italian breakfast very tasty. An ideal place to relax and taste Italian flavors and the Italian lifestyle.

Nothing really.
The hotel is in a quiet location away from the crowds (which we absolutely loved) that flock to Sirmione but within a very short walking distance from the castle and all the many restaurants. It is quite a basic hotel that could probably do with some modernising but all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and the breakfasts good. We arrived by car and were lucky to secure a parking space outside the hotel but driving to it through the streets is not easy because they are very narrow and depending on the time of day, it can be quite a mission because of the sheer number of visitors!

Thin doors, limited privacy because balconies are looking on the neighbours.
Nice bed and the toilet, large tv screen. Tasty breakfast. Shuttle bus from grifo parking.

Just some bugs which came from outside through the balcony were disturbing but nothing the hotel could do as the location is with nature!
Perfect location in the middle of Sirmione center. Very clean and cozy room with a balcony with a nice view. The breakfast had more selections than expected with good taste. Staff was super friendly. Really liked the stay.

Parking Griffo is 15 minutes of walking distances from the hotel, definately park near the hotel.
Clean rooms. Amazing lake view. Amazing breakfast.

It's not about the hotel itself but about Sirmione as the parking are extremely expensive and to get to the hotel you have to cross the city center crowded of tourists and small streets. The parking of the hotel is quite small too.
Amazing breakfast and beautiful hotel. The location is great and the room are ok. The cheap prize is fair as with the expense of the parking added on is like any other price. I would go back to this hotel anyway as it's very well kept and it's all worth for the breakfast

Brilliant location, staff were friendly, breakfast was excellent. Had a lovely relaxing day at the Terme Catullo Aquaria Thermal Spa, 5min walk away from the hotel, what a treat and value for money.

Coffee and tea not topped up in room every day.
Quiet location with lovely garden and pool area. 5 mins into Sirmione old town, which is very pretty. Lake view room lovely view and nice balcony. Young lady on reception very helpful sorting a taxi for our cancelled flight. Breakfast was huge choice, well presented. Dining room looking out over lake, modern light and airy.

The walls are thin. You can hear the noices from the other rooms and from the hallway.
The breakfast was the most awesome ever!! The view from the balcony was pretty to the lake and the room was big.
