How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

the wifi is very poor. there are steps before the elevator and after it before the apartment

Didn't receive instructions in advance as promised so we were nervous about getting in. Sent a text on route with no response but the host answered the phone and sent instructions straight away on arrival

The location is fantastic, allowing a leisurely walk to explore various attractions in Rome such as Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and other shops and restaurants. The early check-in was a pleasant surprise, and the hosts' flexibility, especially considering we had infants and 1 child with us that made our experience truly exceptional. Highly Recommended!

It was great, but a few small issues… 1. Floors was dirty in places and it was very dusty 2. Ripped towel was left for us rolled up on the bed nicely 3. STEP IN THE ENTRANCE… the step as you walk to the first apartment is very dangerous it need to sign or a warn before hand
It was great, especially the bed, its one of the best night sleeps I’ve have whilst being on holiday and very close to restaurants so you don’t need to go far to find great food

the check-in process wasn't as smooth, instructions were not given until we had to ask for it.
location was great, right in the center - near trevi fountain and spanish steps, nearby shops and restaurants, very busy tourist area but was great for us as it was our first time visiting

The only minor thing was the shower’s water pressure. It was very low and it was difficult to take a proper shower

The location is ideal, situated near the iconic Spanish Steps. Its central position allows convenient access to various attractions, making it a strategic hub for exploring the city. For a delightful start to your day, you can enjoy breakfast at a nearby establishment. Additionally, there's a health-conscious restaurant conveniently located downstairs. While the Colosseum may not be within immediate reach, it's certainly within a manageable 30-minute walking distance for those who don't mind a stroll through the charming streets of Rome.

It is an apartment, like no room service or daily cleaning included, but it is not a big deal, as it is mentioned that you can request for such service if you want.
The location is perfect, you can reach all the places just by walking around, 😄 save the transportation costs for a good pizza and pasta near you. The host is very responsive, seems like a nice person, The size of the apartment is really good, secured access, and quite rooms, If you wanna enjoy Rome, it is a good catch, i will rebook again without hesitation,

Hard to beat the location, the apartment is centrally located and within walking distance of the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Vatican City etc. Gianluca was extremely helpful and answered every question we had very promptly. Probably the best piece of advice was where to eat - all the recommendations were superb! We had the best pizza we’ve ever had while we were in Rome!

The handover of the keys were the only downside. Unfortunately we needed to wait for quite some time. The telephone number was not the right one and somebody needed to call us back.
