How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Only downside was the rather small bed for two people.
Five night stay on road trip through Italy. Conveniently located close to the center of the city. Within easy walking distance of cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and many attractions. Apartment is located in a converted building that is exclusively used as aparthotel. Quiet location of apartment due to inner courtyard orientation. Separate bedroom and bathroom. Combined living-/dining room with kitchenette (fridge, dishwasher, coffee machine, electric kettle and basic kitchenware). Washing machine in the apartment. Parking garage with discount for apathotel guests close by. Overall good value.

Since the room was right under the roof, the air was stuffy and it was hot even though it was not hot outside. It's nice to have coffee in the room but some tea bags would have been also preferable.
That was my second time at Domo apartments. In general, the stay was very good. The room was spacious and had everything I needed.

Fabulous location with easy access and lift. Spotlessly clean, well appointed, quiet and comfortable. Excellent property and a great price. Could not have wished for a better place.

There's no loading zone (or any other option to park) in front of the building. So large luggage might be a problem ...
Newly refurbished, very clean apartment - or rather apartmentS. We had two adjacent ones, which were conveniently interconnected. Location close to all sights in the inner city, still quiet at night.

Table in the room was wobbly, and the floor was quite dirty (although the slippers in the room made up for this!)

We left window open at night instead of turning on air con and it was a bit noisy.
The apartment was very central to all the main sights of Trieste. The check- in was very easy. It was very clean and suitable for our group. The staff were exceptional especially Sara who helped us to get a taxi for our return to airport and allowed us leave our luggage in their office.

Only a small thing, and quite personal, but poor selection of pillows made for a less comfortable sleep.
Great location in centre of old town close to lots of the major sites. Comfortable accommodation with good facilities.

As a suggestion, some shelves in the shower and bathroom for your toiletries.
Clean, quiet apartment in a great location. Very secure and wonderful staff who helped us as required.

A bit of dust in the bathroom next to the toilet was present. The noise of water toilet from other appartment.
The location is perfect. The furnitures are really great.

Internet access was a little weak, but we got access to their private network. The mobile cell signal was also a little weak, but we had a signal near the window, so it was okay for us.
The apartment was very clean and comfortable. We checked in easily with the door code, and we had everything in the apartment for our stay.

The noise from the hotel vent system is heard very well in the rooms on the top floor, mind this when booking.
Simple self check-in process, great location, discount voucher for the nearby car parking.

More coffee pods please.
Nice location and very comfortable- good coffee maker (though only 2 pods provided), nice small kitchenette, and good bed. Staff were helpful and luggage drop off was very convenient.

Very central! We came for the half marathon and we could get a late checkout. They reminded us also upfront that we might want to book some restaurants what was helpful.

Modern, clean and RIGHT in the middle of Trieste city centre. Very walkable to everything and there’s also a bus right outside. We had originally planned to stay at the Hilton Doubletree but extremely happy we stayed here for half the price and better amenities!
