How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

everything was super, small point would be, that the cleaning lady was a bit grumpy, but did her job very well
Lorenzo was a super nice host, always available and ready to help. the room was very clean and offered everything we needed. Loved that we did not need a key for the room as everything was manageable through the smartphone

I can really say there was anything I disliked about this b&b! It was my personal technology that made it difficult...know that I'm from the US and my phone worked best inside the room.
This was such a great location in the historic part of Rome. The perfect place to explore Vatican City and the surrounding area. So close we could walk easily. The building was beautiful. Our room was clean and very modern. Breakfast was European and a great way to start the day. We wanted to also make it to the Colosseum but we ran out of town because we were lost amongst all the cool things in the area. Getting into the door was difficult with the technology app but Erica helped us easily, and we found if we stood at the top of the entrance steps, the unlock app worked perfectly to access the b&b. I hope I can make it back to stay with my family, and we could rent the entire space. It was lovely.

The hosts are very nice and forthcoming to answer any needs. Domus Alberico is very well located to explore Rome by foot or with public transport.

Location is perfect. Close to Vatican City and The Castle. Public transport around the corner but not really needed. Most places of interest and nice restaurants, bars, shops are on walking distance

Excellent location with a number of restaurants within 5 minutes walk. The hosts were also extremely responsible and flexible to our needs. The virtual check-in was also seamless. The modern apartment was quite spacious and comfortable.

The automated doors hopefully can be changed to use offline unlock methods as our internet roaming was a bit shoddy at times and i had to connect to the buildings wifi to unlock the doors. But overall not a big problem, just pointers for improvement maytbe?
The rooms are beautiful, clean and modern. Location is very near to Vatican but quite far from the others (but not so much) . Lorenzo, our host is very very accommodating, responsive and friendly overall. He even allowed us to check-in earlier and this was a blessing for us as we had many luggage that needed to be unloaded and a good rest before going to Vatican was appreciated. A good home away from home experience.

We had a mix up with the booking via Booking.com - not the host! - and expected a larger room. In the event, we had a wonderful stay in any case.
The hotel is in an old property that is quiet and has been tastefully decorated and thoughtfully equipped. We particularly liked the handsome bathroom, plenty of storage space and restful colour scheme. There was a full range of fresh breakfast options that were attractively presented. The service was friendly and helpful. The dining area and terrace were very pleasant spaces to plan the day ahead and use later in the day to supplement the room booked. The chambermaid was nicely accommodating when we disrupted her schedule. The host arranged our transport to the airport efficiently and comfortably. Thank you, Lorenzo!

The B&B was in a great location, quiet neighbourhood but still in good proximity to all of Rome’s main tourist spots as well as some great local places for food. Check in was super easy and Lorenzo was very helpful via WhatsApp throughout the stay. The room and bathroom were spotless, comfortable and great value for money! We would definitely recommend for a trip to Rome - thank you :)

As an apartment all is good!
Always fast reply when have questions from the host,and valuable information. Great support. Specially on the airport pickup. The driver is very nice and the car is super big 😏 for 3 persons .apartment location from my point of view is very good. As very close to the Sant Angelo castle and Vatican museum /city. To the other area like phantom etc. also quite convenient. Most important is a safe area!

The location is very good, most attractions are close by. Lorenzo the host is helpful and kind. The apartment is clean, the bed is comfortable. Everything is automatic, there is no reception, I didn't meet any staff. Phone door opening

The room we got did not have much natural light. The apartment entry door is operated via smartphone so if the wifi signal or cellular signal isn’t good, it can be hard to open the door. But the solution was to do it from the entrance of the building where the cellular signal is good.
Tastefully decorated. I like that it was close to the Vatican. The room was spacious. Lorenzo helped us book airport taxis and was very communicative the whole time.
