Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomCentral location, in a lovely area of Rome. Peaceful and lots of shops, restaurants in close proximity. Room cleaned daily and plenty of fresh towels. Comfortable room and ensuite, perfect for our city break. Our host was very helpful with local knowledge. Definitely recommend staying here in such a unique property, the Vatican is close by too. Such a rare find! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

United KingdomNo negatives! Although from a female perspective I would make a suggestion to have a full length mirror somewhere in the room 🙂
Clean, spacious, comfortable & in an excellent location. Easy walking distance to most historical attractions in Rome and many lovely places to eat in the immediate area! Marco’s communication was excellent from point of booking right through to check out! He was extremely helpful during our stay making it a stress free, relaxing experience. Have already recommended this accommodation to friends and would definitely look to stay again if ever back in Rome!

United KingdomNo tea bags, but understand that Italy is more of a coffee place.
Marc was very attentive on our arrival, supplied a map of monuments. Helped us book a taxi where needed. The room was bright and clean, a little out of the city which we thoroughly enjoyed as it meant we could walk and explore.

BelgiumThere is very good isolation towards the outside of the building. We really hear nothing that happens in the street However it is quite noisy inside the B&B itself, we could hear people coming and leaving and even the sound of the keys in the doors. It was ok as we are good sleepers but I suppose it might be difficult for people having light sleep.
Very clean place in a quiet street We said we came for our honeymoon and even had a little bottle of prosseco and flowers in the bedroom when we arrived. Owners are very kind

United KingdomEverything was as stated on the Booking.com page so no surprises.
A very clean, bright, lovely spacious double room with en-suite. Metro 10 mins away and some buses nearer. Walkable to Vatican Museum etc and lots of good restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Marco gave us a friendly welcome and although not always on the premises was always contactable via whatsapp if you required help or information.

BelgiumThe only minus is very thin walls, you can hear everything from the neighbouring room. Luckily our stay was very calm but it could a problem if other guests were noisy.

Booking here was definitely the best decision we made for our trip to Rome! I was unsure as to whether I’d picked the right area as you do need to walk (or metro) into central Rome, however, this meant that the area we stayed in was so lovely and quiet. Don’t get me wrong, there were still plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from, but it was away from the chaotic crowds of the centre. This meant that the B&B was very quiet throughout the night and our sleep was completely undisturbed. The room was extremely clean, the bed very comfy and it had all the bits and bobs you need for a city break weekend (tea bags, biscuits, small sachets of shampoo, bottles of shower gel etc) so you can cut down on the things you pack. There were thoughtful storage solutions (great rail for clothes, enough hooks etc; it might seem like a small thing but it really makes you feel at home. The check-in process was by far and away the easiest one I’ve ever done, and I travel a lot! Marco stayed in touch via Whatsapp and gave very clear instructions, as well as some really helpful advice regarding our return journey to the airport. We didn’t use it but the communal eating area looked lovely and cared for as well. We thought the accommodation was incredibly good value considering it was only a 35mins walk to central Rome (or a quick Lime Scooter which we definitely made the most of)! Some tips for the area; Caffeteria di Borgo is fab for coffees and delicious pastries, if you are heading off on a tour early, and the restaurant literally outside the front door of the B&B, Ai Balestrari, was fantastic – amazing food, great service and incredible value for money, we ate there twice (and then rolled upstairs lol). If I return to Rome, I will definitely be staying here again and I’ve already recommended it to a friend!

Czech RepublicThe location of the place could not be better. We walked everywhere (we walked to Vatikan a few times a day:)), everyrything is reachable and available. In the streets around there are a lot of restaurants and cafés which offer authentic Italian cuisine. Finally, Marco was very helpful and nice and his apartments are clean, suitably equipped and quiet. We will definitely book the same accommodation next time.

RomaniaNot an issue for us, but be aware that you might hear the guests from the adjacent rooms talking.
We truly enjoyed our stay at Domus Serafino! It’s located in a nice and quiet neighbourhood, with plenty of cafes and restaurants, the metro is only 5-6 minutes away. The communication with Marco was seamless, he answered all of our questions and was really helpful and kind. The rooms themselves were super clean, beautifully decorated and the beds comfortable. It was everything we could have asked for and we’d definitely be back here next time we visit Rome!

The apartment is housed in a beautiful building across the road from a great little market. It was warm, comfortable beds, bright and airy, and ideally close to the metro and vatican. We loved being over this side of Rome and used the metro to get across town. Marcos family was lovely. There is a restaurant next door which is good and very reasonable, and we enjoyed eating there too. Will definitely use this apartment again when visiting Rome

An outstanding experience, the beat hotel host we have ever had. Marco, the owner, helped surpass our expectations in the first 5 minutes of our arrival by offering a (very) early check-in and a room upgrade without any charge, just because he could, because there was availability. This is not a mentality you often meet in this business. Also, when asked, he took the time to give us quite a few suggestions about not touristic restaurants to visit, with personal comments on each one that were spot on. The room was spotless clean, and the small living room outside the rooms had everything the guests could require. The location was great, right next to the Vatican and only a few minutes of walk to all the famous monuments, just behind one of the largest commercial roads, full of shops. Marco was also kind enough to allow us to leave our luggage for 8 hours before our late evening flight. Overall, Domus Serafino was a big reason why we enjoyed our trip as much as we did, and we will definitely be visiting again on our next one, there.
