How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The staff were fantastic. Carrying your bags and coming with you to the Street to get a taxi. Location could not be better, 3 minutes walk to Trevi Fountain

Wish I could have stayed longer.
It was located in a great location very close to Trevi Fountain with many shops, stores, restaurants, and activities. A fun place to walk around any time of the day or night. The breakfast was awesome with many options. It was very clean. Our hostess Raluca couldn’t do enough to make everyone comfortable and accommodate their needs. The renovations and appearance was outstanding in joining the old world charm with the modern era. I would highly recommend.

The breakfast was very basic.
Amazing central location right behind all the fuss around Trevi fountain, adorable local hotel, super easy to check in and very traditional yet cozy room. Wi-fi worked super well and room had great amenities. Highly recommend !

The pillows were thin and there were only two but two more were provided at request.
Great location 50m from Trevi Fountain, really good breakfast, close to great restaurants and an easy walk to Rome Termini. The building is beautiful! VERY GOOD STAFF AS WELL.

The Domus Trevi is a wonderful place to stay. It is close to many of Rome's attractions. Our room was a generous size as was the bed. Also very comfortable. It was very quiet at night and our host Raluca was so friendly and most helpful. We would love to stay there again.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel! Booking in advance was seamless, and upon arrival before check-in time, we were warmly welcomed by the staff. They were incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. Our room was impeccably clean and comfortable, with daily cleaning service ensuring a tidy space. The homemade breakfast was a delightful touch, and when we inquired about rice milk, it was promptly provided the next day. The staff could also assist us with booking tickets to various attractions, making our sightseeing hassle-free. Any questions we had were met with thorough and helpful answers. We look forward to returning and extend our sincere thanks to the entire team for their outstanding hospitality!

Simply everything. Location was excellent. Only 2 minutes to Trevi Fountain. Also it was very clean. For me the most important thing is staff was very helpful. Even she came with us for taxi and negotiate with him about our price and explain to location. She is like a close friend. If I come Rome again I will rent same hotel and I don’t check any options.

The staff at the accommodation are very attentive, polite, helpful and cheerful. They helped and guided us in every aspect. The room was clean and it had everything needed. Location is perfect to go everywhere.

The lift is very small.
The location of this b&b is 2 mins away from trevi fountain. Very central! The best part of our stay is the Madamme Raluka she is fantastic!!! She made our mornings special and helped us alot with planning!! Her service is the best!

Nothing at all
Just a stone’s throw from the Trevi Fountain with the room furnished to a high standard. Great selection of complimentary biscuits to accompany hot drinks (tea/coffee) you can boil up in your room. Variety of foodstuffs for breakfast with cooked options offered to you. I had a very early departure with a packed b/f made up for me which kept me going for my return to the UK.

There is nothing that we did not like.
The location and accommodation was perfect. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast delicious. Our host Reluca was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Anything we needed Reluca was there to help. Booking trips, taxis and offering advice. Reluca went out of her way to get me some cake for my husband’s birthday and set up breakfast in our room, before a very early trip to Venice. We would definitely recommend the Domus Trevi and would definitely book again.
