Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Denmarkthe secutiry boxes were too small to store my hand luggage. many mosqitos in the patio (much more than other places in ercolano). the bar at the rooftop was closed when i stayed there, and it was inconvenient to go all the way down just to buy a beer. we were not allowed to eat food on the rooftop. it was difficult to come home to the hostel after a night out in the Napoli center (or anywhere really). public night-transport was scarce and confusing. Most restaurants in the area are not that good, and a little cringe.
The hostel is indeed charming - however i've been to better hippiestyle hostels in the canarian islands. good place to meet likeminded down-to-earth people. surprisingly much to do in the area. I recommend the botanical garden, the saltwater poolclub just next door (18 euro entrance though), the LARGE vintage market in ercolano, Gaaarden bar ( a little far away but an amazing outside bar), barberia by Massimo (good cheap barbershop). very local area - not many turists. go here for a different experience in the Napoli area.

NetherlandsI can only say that the beds are not the most comfortable but the rest is definitely a 10!
I loved the vibe of the whole place, it feels very welcoming and cute. The staff are super friendly. The location is perfect if you want to get away from the busy city of Naples. Very accessible to go to Pompeii by train and the Vesubio.

United StatesWifi wasn’t great in the room, but it was fast in the common areas. The beds weren’t great. Not enough hot water for the shower.
Lots of very affectionate cats running around the property, so that was nice. The whole place is kept very clean. The kitchen is well equipped. The staff are helpful. No AC, but I stayed in November so it was fine. They do have a ceiling fan and a portable fan in the room.

IsraelIt’s slightly more expensive than other places we stayed in during our trip despite being a hostel.
The place itself is gorgeous, facilities- kitchen and common rooms clean and useful. The private room was clean, well designed and accommodating, simple as expected of course. Great staff. Staff were incredibly nice and useful with planning our trip. Location- Ercolano is a calmer location ( we preferred it to Naples) and with trains and buses easily connecting to everywhere you need to go- Vesuvius, Pompei ruins, walking distance to hercolenium and also to Naples and Sorrento. You get what you pay for, no surprises. We had an excellent time. The hostel helps with transfer services by fairly priced shuttles, this is something thing which you must consider when staying since the distance from the train station is about an 18 minute walk, which the *hostel clearly states*. Better to come with a car or taxi if you carry heavy luggage. We managed and it’s in no way in fault of the hostel.

GermanyThe location is at the foot of the Vesuv between the train stations Ercolano and Torre del Greco (20min from Naples), which is perfect for day trips to Herculaneum, Pompeii and the vulcano. If you want to have a quiet and relaxing stay close to Naples i can highly recommend the Eco Hostel Floreales. It is run by a group of old friends, who are all friendly and love to help out with your Italy plans. Breakfast is delicious (coffee, juice, cookies, croissant, jam). And don’t miss out taking a nap on the roof terrasse, watching the sun go down on Capri island. Will definitely come again! :)

NetherlandsIt was unfortunate that the kitchen was closed because of technical issues. This is understandable, but the owner was clearly frustrated and communicated with us screaming and very unfriendly.
The hostel is very nicely decorated and has a good atmosphere. The bar is cosy and the terrace is great. We booked the caravan, but because it was quite cold outside they gave us an upgrade to a room!

MexicoThe private room is on the ground floor directly next to the reception and common rooms, which means there is limited privacy. Walls are very thin so one can hear normal conversations taking place in the other rooms. During the day this was unrpoblematic, however at night time the quiet hours (12 pm- 8 am) were not always respected.
Very cozy and friendly atmosphere Helpful and friendly staff! Kitchen is well equipped Common rooms and bar are nice for relaxing and meeting new people Public beach (quite large and accessible for italian standards) is close to the hostel The city of Ercolano itself isn't your typical tourist destination but quite interesting Breakfast was very affordable and even vegan option!
