Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsSome lids could be placed on top of the food platters to shield them from the swarms of insects. Coffee was horrible. Housekeeping left our door open after cleaning the room. There was a missing towel for our room of 3, as well as some sheets for the third bed. The evening receptionist wasn't eager to help out when problems arose.
The evening activities were a lot of fun. Airconditioning was a welcome addition.

United KingdomI'm writing this review at 02.30 because I can't sleep for some reason. Read on. Cars are parked downhill and at least at five minute walk to reception. You pay for the room with a card and local tax with cash then you get a wrist band. Ours were white, more about this later. You also get a map showing our room is a ten minute walk from reception. Imagine you are on a platform and one of those never ending freight trains is passing through at high speed. That's the sound of the air con in room 819. So to escape the noise you go for an afternoon drink to the only bar open which is by the pool but you can't have a drink unless you walk to reception, pay 5 euros for a card then load more money on the card then return to the bar, order the drink then find out on the receipt how much it cost. You don't stay at the bar unless you like an overly energised DJ shouting as he tries to stir up the pool side crowd or unless you enjoy watching the staff doing a dance routine to loud music or as I witnessed you don't mind when a man takes his 2 year old daughter to the corner of the bar, removes her costume and tells her to pee on the floor which she does. We returned to our room to find there is no wifi and the fridge doesn't work and there is no mobile signal so we go to receptionist who makes a note about the fridge and explains the WiFi is only available in the reception or the bar because this is a wildlife conservation area. Someone should have told the DJ. What she didn't say is the same WiFi signal gets less and less the longer you are on until it just stops completely after about half an hour. I knew by then that getting an evening meal would have some rule we had not observed and I was not disappointed.
The food was nice. The beds were comfortable. The shower was good

SwedenWhen we booked it said room with Wi-Fi and balcony, we had neither. we didn’t even had any service on our phones in our room. to make a call or receive one we had to walk down the hallway. On checkin we were told about the shuttle bus to the beach. When we waited to jump on it we were told we weren’t allowed on it as we weren’t guests with all inclusive. The fire alarm in our room was taken down. The ladder to the bunk bed had a screw missing and so was loose and therefor nervous when our daughter was climbing in and out. Found two staff that spoke some English, no one else. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Rather try and stay in Santa Teresa or Palau.
the pool. but they charged us extra to buy swim hats as we had to wear these to be allowed in the pool.

SloveniaIts not long way drive from olbia to the hotel but the roads are wavy, rural and tiring. We heard one woman at reception complaining about wild piggs walking around. But the receptionist explained us that they came from mountains and are also very friendly. They even named one. We thought that was cute and were a bit sorry cause we didnt see one. Air conditioning is SOOOO LOUD!
We got the room on the second floor and it was nice. Balcony on both sides. Great. Ground floor rooms seems a bit unsafe.
