How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Great location, walking distance to everything! The room was spacious clean and lovely. Paolo was lovely and gave us some excellent food and sightseeing recommendations. Would recommend!

The host Paolo is wonderful, very welcoming and very polite. The location is fantastic - close to every major sightseeing point of interest and during the night is quiet. The cleaning is exemplary - this was very important to us. The housekeeping team was very good.

Some road noise early morning but better with windows closed and AC was good
Brilliant location which meant we could go back and rest during the day. Lovely room and great to have use of the kitchen We arrived early and Paolo did so much to help us. Fantastic

The bed was slightly hard but not really an issue. The street the guest house is on smells quite bad but you are off the street very quickly.
Paolo the host was fantastic! Allowed for early check in and gave us many recommendations. We had to do some work whilst in Florence and the wifi speed was amazing! The room is spacious and clean. Super central location on a quieter street. Elevator available to get luggage up stairs. Would definitely book again!

Great accomodation just in the center of the city. The room was very clean. The kitchen is a shared place, very nice and has everything you may need. Paolo is a great host, responsive and easy to communicate with. I will deffinetely choose again this guest house when I will travel again to Florence. Thank you for everything, Paolo!

Location, location, location, that is so crucial in Florence. This hotel was excellent in this regard. Paolo who runs the hotel was excellent, v kind, welcoming and akways checking in that all is OK. Kitchen facilities, bedroom was excellent. Overall a splendid apartment accommodation. Highly recommend it.

We loved the sound of the bells in the day and are early risers so didn’t mind the hustle and bustle of the market traders moving their stalls in the morning. But if you are a very light sleeper who likes sleeping in very late, it might not be for you. I say get up early, enjoy an amazing Italian coffee and make the most of seeing the city!
Spacious, clean, perfectly located for all the sights, shops and restaurants whilst being on a fairly quiet, out of the way street. Could not have had a more friendly, welcoming host, who even returned items to us by post that we had forgotten. So kind. Really brilliant. Access to a shared kitchen and a coffee machine was useful too. We loved our stay and would visit again.

The room was very comfortable and well appointed. Kitchen facilities were very good, though as an avid tea drinker, larger mugs would have been appreciated.

The location is perfect, very close to the cathedral. Paolo was very helpful and kind, he shared some recommendations with us about where to eat and he even let us leave our luggage in the room before check-in time. The room and the bathroom were very clean and there was air-conditioning and a lift, which was very much appreciated. There was free coffee in the kitchen and a mini fridge in the room.

Would like a few more towel racks and the fridge should probably not be in a cupboard as it got quite hot and could be a possible fire hazard.
The location was amazing and Paolo was fabulous and so very helpful.
