Staff and chef went out of their way to help at all times and particularly with special dietary needs . The breakfast and dinner was plentiful and tasty with many choices. Two of the nights music was provided once by a piano keyboard player and another night by a harpist . The hotel is well located to the gondolas etc for day trips in the mountains as well central to public transport .

Outstanding and spatious room with a very comfortable bed and great bathroom. Great location with views of the city. The tram to the Alpe Suisse was just across the street. The breakfast was outstanding as well.

The staff in the reception have never proposed to help with the luggage despite we having a small child. They were helpful regarding restaurant tips and hiking trails, but we were expecting more from them.

Nothing...superb hotel

Delicious breakfast and great variety--home baked items and very fresh. Cozy bar area with fantastic apertivo and cocktails. Incredible dinners. Lovely spa and relaxation areas. Spa treatments were some of the best we've had. Ski room was super convenient and transportation to gondola was also convenient and easy. Ski guide was extremely knowledgable and friendly. We could go on and on...stayed for 7 days and did not want to leave! All staff are incredible!

Beautiful hotel with a comfortable room and large, beautiful bathroom. The services on site were fantastic. We had a lovely apertivo in the gorgeous bar, we took a guided hike in the mountains above the hotel, and enjoyed a wine tastings of local offerings with a sommelier. The pool and sauna were so relaxing and wonderful. Breakfast had an amazing array of offerings. The hotel is an easy walk into the central town, and also an easy walk to the Seceda gondola.

These misgivings are nitpicky and did not mar the overall experience: The room and bathroom were a tiny bit dated compared to more modern offerings. The gym is a little small and dated. Sauna / steam room hours are not the most flexible (closed for the better part of the day).

Angelo Engel was our favourite hotel out of all of the places we stayed during our honeymoon. The entire place has incredible charm, having been kept in and managed by the same family for 4 generations. We only spent 3 nights there, but the staff knew us and made us feel very welcome. The buffet breakfast was truly exceptional - with an array of different jams and honeys, cold cuts, breads, and hot offerings - and some of the best filter coffee I have ever had. Dinner was equally as impressive, with 5 courses on the menu, excellent service, and assigned seating; the whole affair made us feel very special. Facilities are excellent, with a very relaxing sauna and spa area to be enjoyed and a large heated pool.

This may be the best place I've ever stayed at in my life. I want to live here. The staff was super friendly, helpful and really accommodating to us, since we were traveling with a 2 year old. The room was really big and comfy. The food was good, and they gave us a LOT of it!

I think it would be very difficult to find a better hotel than Angelo / Engel, so extraordinary is the comfort offered and the quality of the service and menus. What's more, the fourth generation of the family that runs this hotel has managed to instil a spirit that is both respectful of past traditions and extraordinarily modern in the way it welcomes guests. What benevolence!

Everything was perfect.

The location is wonderful! So close to town yet so quiet. The staff are incredible, so helpful with even the smallest of things. They helped me connect to the TV, they supplied a wonderful gluten free breakfast for me everyday (I’m coeliac), they were so helpful with local hikes. The room and view was incredible and all in all the hotel amenities are wonderful.
