How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The kitchen faucet was broken and leaking water, the toilet had no toilet seat and the toilet cover was broken.
Very good location, close to metro and a short walk from city centre.

A little on the pricier side and didn’t get as cool at night even with AC going.
Great location to explore Rome, unique building to stay in, lovely snacks provided by the host, and comfortable bed!

Location is great for convenience but there are people on streets that may represent danger of pick-pockets. Still, with care and caution, not a reason to avoid.
Exceptional host, went out of their way to accommodate. Facilities were ample two bedrooms with A/C, accommodate 5 comfortably. Host made available a fully stocked dinning area with stove and refrigerator, complete with everything needed for a good breakfast start of the day. All utensils provided. beds were comfortable. Location next to train station convenient when traveling by bus or train. Reasonable walk to all main attractions. Commercial wash next door handy.

The area is not the most beautiful and not the most clean. Since the windows are at the street, there is a lot of noise, bring some earplugs. Bathroom is usable but needs some fixes. Kitchen is small.
The location is a few minutes from the Termini train station. The host received us late in the evening, and provided us with good advice. Even though the apartment is close to the train station, the host said it is a safe, multicultural area. The rooms are very big and the beds are very confortable and have clean sheets. We had enough clean towels at our disposal. Wifi is excellent. We had breakfast food available (cereal, milk, gem, bread, yogurt).

Kitchen is small and somewhat random. Wifi code did not work, host didnt answer.
Great location, good price, very nice host! Rooms are big, beds are comfy and you can make the rooms really dark!

The location was convenient, with easy access to trains, metro and buses but it's a bit seedy. Not really a complaint, just an observation.

Very clean and modern apartment. 2 minutes walk to the train and bus stations. Very helpful host, who waited for us on a late last minute booking, and was very patient with our overtierd kids! All mod cons, great heating, great shower, quiet at night. Good selection of foods for breakfast. Very convenient for an early / late train or bus. Highly recommended.

No hotel name neat the door on the floor. There was no microwave. Few pots, you need 2-3 more. No washing machine, if you live long.
Convenient location. Daily cleaning. We personally thank Ruby for cleanliness.

The loo seat fell off while we were there! The kitchen is quite small but still just about big enough to cook a full meal if you wanted to, as we did.
Handy location for the sights and tube for going a bit further across town, supermarket just across the road for supplies. Very helpful and friendly host who gave us lots of useful information. Nice to get breakfast provided. Main bed was really big.

Nothing. Everything was perfect.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Federica's Suite Home and I must say, it was an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, Federica was incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home. The space was beautifully designed and spotlessly clean, with all the amenities I could have asked for. What really stood out to me, though, was the attention to detail and thoughtfulness that went into every aspect of my stay. Federica provided helpful tips and recommendations for exploring the area, and even left some local treats for me to try. They truly went above and beyond to make sure I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a top-notch experience. Thank you for providing such a memorable stay!

Federica was very nice and kind! She has been waiting for us and upon arrival she arranged everything needed. She was also flexible for our check-out, much appreciated! Enjoyed it much! Will comeback again!!!
