We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

Australiamany things were not acceptable: -tried to communicate with the contact/reception about problems with the apartment but no one contacted me back (poor service) - broken appliances, -toilet not working very well, (very little toilet paper provided-1/4 of a roll) -only 3 cups /and only 2 glasses but sleeps 4, -power points broken in all rooms (or they don’t work with the appliances that are next to the power points ), -photos on booking.com do not match the apartment at all. - long walk to get to train. station - keys are at a random location nowhere near the apartment we stayed in - very inconvenient when travelling by public transport -random furniture

NetherlandsEven though I stressed the need to confirm the booking of the apartment in the vicinity of the financial police academy, upon arrival I got the key of another apartment due to an alleged ‘Covid case’. When I complained about it, the reception staff provided me with another apartment conveniently located. Free shuttle bus to the beach is not available after 17:00.
Location of the apartment was right in front of the Financial Police school where the work activity took place. That was also the reason of my choice. Walking distance from the beach. Apartment was very clean, nicely decorated , with functioning AC. The Nespresso machine was a real added value in the morning!

SpainIt was a horrible experience. They decided to changed the apartament without asking before. We took a apartament close to the school which I had to work during a week. They gave another apartament but not inform about the changed. When I asked for the changed they didn´t respond. I tried to get the invoice for 30 days without getting it.

United StatesWe had to pickup the keys from a lockbox but the hosts did not inform us that the actual rental was a 15min walk away so we had to trudge with our suitcases through the rain in the middle of the night. Had we known we would’ve had our taxi wait for us whilst we collected the keys. Once we arrived the room had not been cleaned after the previous guest - there was food in the bed, soiled sheets and towels and the entire apartment stunk like death. To make it all worse we were just staying here as a stopover on our way back to Australia from Sardinia, we just had one night in Rome to prepare for the long 30+ hours of travel ahead and it was the most horrendous experience I’ve ever had.
There was literally nothing to like about this rental. It was a literal nightmare.

United Arab EmiratesLocation felt unsafe; really run down - like a dodgy council estate. The room wasn’t what we booked but the staff said nothing at check in (they left an apology note in the apartment). Was difficult to find the apartment as no directions or correct names on the doors. Was also dark at time and felt very unsafe. we tried to call the staff twice at 9.50pm for direction but they didn’t answer the call (we seen them 5 minutes prior and office due to close 10pm - they seemed happy to ignore us and didn’t follow up). Luckily a neighbour helped us who loved nearby - thankfully my partner is Italian and could communicate otherwise we would have been stranded - zero support from staff.
It was clean, AC in living room worked well (no AC in bedrooms)

New ZealandWe have only complaints. We arrived 30 minutes before checking time at the key office. We received our key and would receive a call as soon as it was ready. We NEVER received any more communication from that point. At checking time we decided to enter the property. It had, at 3pm - check-in time - not been cleaned from previous guests. The apartment had obviously been smoked in. There was ZERO wifi. Not a modem in sight. The tv had no apps, only Italian tv. At 6pm a crew of three cleaners came in and took out the garbage, changed the sheets and gave us new towels. They were there a total of 10 minutes. I tried showering but gave up after fluctuating between freezing cold and seriously scalding for a few minutes. Also note: we searched for a place with a shuttle. There is no such thing. There is an airport taxi they will charge you to organise for you. This may have an attractive price tag, but don’t be fooled. 24 hours after checking out we have still not received any communication saying we can check in.
Just about nothing but the price.

South AfricaCheck In is far away from the apartment. You have to walk about 15 minutes, up lots of stairs, carrying all your luggage and with the kids to get to the apartment. You have to pay a tourist tax in cash. The nearest ATM is quite far away. We arranged a shuttle to the airport that was confirmed. It never arrived. Luckily there was an Uber available. It cost half the price of the shuttle. The staff had said no Ubers would be available. It's actually quite far from the airport. We should rather have stayed in Rome another night and gone to the airport from there. It took a long time to get a bus from the airport to Ostia.
The apartment itself was clean and comfortable.
